2nd MRGROWPRO LED Grow - AK48, Bubbleicious

Ok everyone, I haven't wasted any time. I'm back with another log for my second mrgrowpro stealth pc grow. I've learned a lot and making many improvements for this grow. This time skipping the autoflowers and doing one AK48 fem and one bubbleicious fem. I'm hoping this grow will be MUCH BETTER!

Grow Setup/Details:
Seeds: AK48 fem, Bubbleicious fem
Germination: Water 12hrs/Paper Towel 12/hrs (between two plates resting on top if TV box.
Lights: 3x - 15w LED light rails.
(Red(630nm): Blue(460nm) 2:1 ratio.
Fans: 2 80mm exhaust fans and 1 80mm intake fan. 1 120mm fan at the top to circulate more air.
Temps: 80ish F
Humidity: 40-50% with lights/fans running. 50-60% during dark hours.
Light Cycle: Veg 20/4, Flower: 12/12
Soil: BioBizz light mix
Nutes: All BioBizz products: RootJuice, Bio-Heaven, Bio-Grow, Bio-Bloom, TopMax, Alg-A-Mic
Pots: 1.3 Gallon Square, plastic.
Water: distilled

Notable Improvements learned from first grow:
Lights: I bought some magnetic hooks and flexible garden wire to hang the LED light rails directly over the pots for veg. Should be a notable improvement. Before I could only attach them to the sides and top.
Pots: Larger pots that are square so they fit better in the box and hold more soil.
Pot Soil Filling: I filled the new pots more densely this time and more throughly watered the soil prior to planting the germinated seeds. Last time, I was too cautious and after a few weeks the soil dropped to about half the pot.
Training: Going to use the screw and tie LST method. Will probably also use the scrog net as well.

So I harvested my first grow on Saturday 7/19. I had my new seed germinating Saturday night in water for 12hrs. Then I switched the seeds to the paper towel method Sunday morning. I put them between two plates and let them rest on top of my TV box for 12hrs. Both seeds popped almost right at the 12hr mark. I planted them Sunday night and they sprouted Monday night. Loos like I got some good seeds. Much better than my first grow. It took 3 days for one to sprout and 5-6 days for the other one. Here are some pics.

Hello Triplec. Nice setup ! I've read your 1st journal, hope you get Triple of the yield this time !
I am a 1st er ... have a cfl speaker cab running fine, a mrgrowpro and is purchasing one more. The region I live in is too hot and stuffy, so AC is on almost 24/7.
have killed a few seedlings in the mrgrowpro box due to noob mistakes .... My English is not good so I'll stay in lurk mode and follow to learn !

What happened to your seedlings?

So I decided to lower my lights even further down, about two inches lower. They are now 4 inches from the pot, about 3.5 inches from the top of the plants. I'm hoping this will prevent any stretching the plants may try to do. If this is a bad approach just let me know. From what I've read about stretching is the closer the light the better, plus these LED's put out very low heat. Also, there is really good airflow right across the stems.

Went through a lot of noob mistakes in the MGP box, gave breeze straight to it so it dried out, overwatering, underwatering.
And 1 thing I really unsure about is the "too much light for seedling" stuff, now I have 2 of tissue box underneath and the 3 rails of leds are on top. apox 16inch away to the seedling
This one is 4days she seems is doing fine now ....
I am new here, is there any way we can PM each other ?

Yea, the too much light stuff is really not so much about the amount of light itself but about the amount of heat stress from the lights on the plants. There's only 130ish total watts and the LED's don't put out enough heat to cause any stress -- so there nothing to worry about. If you were running different lights like cfl's that run hotter then you'd have to keep them farther away.

Day 6/Week 1 start - update.

So it's 6 days from planting and I'm officially starting week 1. My pots didn't need water til now. I gave each plant 1 liter of water with 2ml of root juice. Here's a pic of the AK48.

I have a family emergency and have to go out of state for the whole week. I think my girls will be OK till then. I will probably water them a little in the morning, but it will be Friday or Saturday until I'm back.

So I'm heading back. Should be back late tonight. It's been a rough week, just with family stuff. I'm also anxious if my girls are ok. I gave them a little water Monday morning of this week, but I had fully watered them two days prior. So they've gone a full 5 days with nothing. I'm sure they are fine but still makes me nervous. I also don't drive with bud in the car so obviously didn't take any on this trip. Will be nice to get a smoke on when I get back.

So I got back late Saturday night. The plants are actually doing great. They were really dry and needed a good water/feed. They are nice a green. There was one or two leaves that had a little up curl on the edges. So I fed them at 1am Sunday morning. I gave bio-grow and bio-heaven nutes for the feeding on week 2.

Sunday evening I started LST. The stems are strong yet pliable. Here's are some pics of AK and Bubs.

Thanks, I am coming up on the 2 weeks of veg mark. Probably veg for another two weeks.

So, starting week 3 today. My ladies have a little nute burn from last weekends feed. I'm quite surprised this happened. I gave accurate measurements to the nutes and used the minimum dosage. I skipped nutes this week and just went with plain water. Runoff PH was at 6.7 for AK. Bubs needs another day until water. I did a lite more training. Just slightly bent the upper most tops down to keep providing more light to the lower nodes. Here's some pics.

Well I'm a little frustrated. My plants are right as 3 weeks old now. My week 1 feed seemed to be a little strong for the ladies. I think they are recovering OK, but it's very frustrating. I measured all the nutes carefully and used the lowest dosage on the BioBizz chart. I should have done half dosage I guess. I've gave plain water over the weekend and gave another watering today. I
plan on just feeding water until I switch to flowering, will will be a week or two. Here are some pics below. The first two are Bubs and the third one is the AK48.

I am also using BioBizz light mix on my first plant, I didn't give her any nutes at all until she was about 30 days old. There are plenty of nutes in the soil that the plant can use for weeks without adding more. Even now nearly 5 weeks in I only give her 0.5ml for 2L of water and she seems happy with that. I know we all want the biggest yield possible but better to under-nute than over-nute I say. Just my 2c

Yea, I did the same with my autos and didn't have this problem. That's why I'm frustrated. The bubbles is not looking that great. New growth tips are brown which is scary. Not sure if I need to flush or what. Hoping they pull through. I think my AK is ok. Although vertical growth hasn't been much in the last week.

I think it's some lock-out, because leaves are pale, and tips are still burnt and yellow.
Some of them are realy nute-burned, i think so...
but new growth seems to me almost ok, little burned, just use little, little smalled dosage...

It was my regular feed day. I did a semi flush on Bubs, gave her about 2L plain water and had about 1L in runoff. The runoff PH was 6.9. I have the AK 1.5 liters and had a little over .5 liter runoff, PH was 6.8. The Bubs runoff water was pretty brown. I guess we'll go with that and see how it goes. I'm wanting to switch to flowering next weekend.
