2nd post, connected to double HVAC post from last week, step back and re-evaluate.

I posted last week about installing a double HVAC split system and because of new info and your responses, I'd like to re-ask the question but I am open to other options as well. It must be doable by me. I have done all my grow room stuff so far, security.

I think I am good without anything new in the winter. Veg room using only elec. radiator heater with plug in thermostat keeps space above minimum at all times, same type thermostat set to refrigeration and a max temp, running exhaust fan on sealed 400w MH light keeps the room nice and cozy and heater gets a break, saving electricity.
I can do the same thing in flower room in the winter. Use a radiator heater and the exhaust on my sealed 600w HPS with the same type of inline plug theromstats to regulate ambient room temps.

My veg and flower rooms are separated by non insulated wall/door for light control. I have a portable AC/Heater installed in the flower room. It works and keeps the room cool enough when the outside ambient temps highs get into the upper 80s to low 90sF. It is too noisy though, way more than splits I've heard. It doesn't help the veg room though. (I also do a little hobby distilling, so I let my mash give off it's CO2 in the grow rooms) I have not lost any plants in veg room in the heat of summer, but I'd like to control it with AC. Will still dump CO2 because it would just go to waste.

Having said all the above. I really don't need heat. I just need AC. I want it to be quiet. I want to get rid of portable AC/Heater in the flower room, it's too noisy. I don't have windows and can't cut much of a hole in the wall as the studs are 14.5 inches apart. No problem for split install.

Any ideas guys?

I've thought of the small window unit ac but no way install in space. The too noisy mobile unit exhaust from a hose out the back. I've insulated it and routed it out of the room. I could put another mobile ac in the veg room but then I would have twice the noise.

I did a mr cool diy mini split myself. The only issue I have with mine is It doesn't seem as strong as other 36k btu mini splits. I have a hard time cooling all my lights if ran at 1150. But for such a small setup that shouldn't be an issue. If you can do wiring and turn a wrench, you should be fine installing, although it is helpful to have someone to help with feeding the line set, and to spot you while on ladder hanging head unit..

I really need a double split to get rid of the mobile ac/heat in the flower room. My controllers wouldn't be physically far apart, but separated by wall. The drop outside to the condenser would be about 7' for both controllers (length from controllers to condenser) with about a 20' run to the breaker box.

Might find a better deal on a different website, but these diy units are easy if you don't already have hvac tools, if you have the tools already then I'd just save money and buy a regular version, the diy are more costly.

i also installed one of these at my place i havent fired it up though i installed a 24,000 btu unit. its pretty easy to do dont forget to find out how much the condenser weighs so you can get the appropriate sized mount if you want it off the ground outside of the building. i got mine off amazon.com had it shipped on a transport to a place in town just lifted the pallet into the back of my truck and drove it home.

This may be what I get as it answers the diy refrigerant lines. It looks as if I need a 30amp 220v breaker in my box to wire into.

I can't find that clearly stated on the dual split 9k x 9k with the 27k condenser smallest DIY dual split MrCool. I will call their tech support tomorrow and verify. If this is the case I am in business without any outside install help required. Thanks

TBH if you grab a gauge set and a cheap vacuum pump from harbor freight then you can go with a normal minisplit with the flare fittings. It's not that complicated to pull a vacuum on the lineset, wait to see if it holds pressure and then release the internal charge on the minisplit. Probably worth buying a flare torque wrench as over torqued flare fittings are a common mistake that causes leaks.

Just talked to a guy at MrCool and he said get a 30amp 220v breaker #10 double pole, wire 10-2 with ground(3 wire)

Update to this post. I ended up buying two vertical AC units and cut holes in the walls of my grow area as I had 14.5" space between studs. One fit like a glove the other required removing some material from the studs for a tight fit. The units performed perfectly and operating cost were not bad. Thanks for the help

It's a window unit but oriented vertically instead of horizonally. I didn't have a picture but it's a unit like this
