2x2 solo cup SOG 250 Watts

Which route should I go?

  • Flower them in cups and whip out the males when they show sex

  • Flip them into flower when ready then pull the males then pot up to 1 gallon bags

  • Toss all of these and just go with 4 fem seeds in 2 gallon pots. LST.

I can see where watering these things in small cups will be a part time job..
Going to flip next week. The stragglers will just veg under 12/12 until they are mature.

Got the heat issue worked out. 73 degrees in there now.

My plants hate me right now... I hit them with another dose of nutes at around 300 total ppm... Getting some clawing.. Flushed the worst ones... Laying off nutes.

It is really tricky keeping plants in solo cups. Once they get root bound, they start showing all kinds of weird things that look like deficiencies. Also very easy to under or over-water.

Yes, I'm finding that out :)

Not sure what to do since I don't know the sex... I guess flip then wait for sex to show then transplant while keeping them in flower?
Why o why did I now make feminized seed?? :)

For this grow, I'd just finish it out like you have it now. Keep an eye on each one for balls and just remove each one you see.

I know this all too well when I tried to keep small mothers in solo cups. It isn't impossible, just more trouble than it is worth.

So I up potted most plants to 1qt bags... Makes watering easier.. I just used 1 gallon bags and taped them up a bit. It's about 4x the soil volume than before.

I had some problems with my timer so I will consider today the flip. Would have liked to have done it a few days ago. I guess it doesn't really matter since they aren't really mature yet.

No signs of sex yet... Stretching like crazy.. It's a real party in there..

The ones I put in larger bags are definitely much larger than the solo cups kids.

A lot of the plants have no side branching showing at the nodes.. That's a little weird... probably Herbies crappy seeds :)

Temps are really nice for some reason.. 73.

Just to wrap this up...

After 5 weeks I scrapped this experiment. Due to competition for light the plants grew much taller than expected. massive stretch.

I have 2 autos in my 2x2 atm. My next run is going to be 1 plant in a 3 gal Scrog. 2 plants in flower are almost too much, I guess a short veg on 4 in smaller pots might work.

Why oh why did I sell me 3ft tent??? :)

It's a real challenge growing with limited space.

Terrible... They all competed for the available light and stretched like crazy.. Also watering was a pain.. I ended up tossing them all out, but one that I flowered..

I have decent luck with 1 gallon grow bags though.. I can get 4 in there no problem and get about an ounce per plant.
