2x2x4 Grow Tent - need help

okay. i am a new grower, but i know alot about growing and how to fix certain problems during the grow process, so i think i will do ok. but this is the setup i was most likely going to get.

400w mh/hps ballast
reflector
250w mh & hps bulbs
oscillating fan
FF ocean forest soil
FF grow big
FF tiger bloom
carbon filter for outtake
small inline fan for intake

now would that be too much light in that space? i was going to use that as my only source of lighting because i figured it would get warm in there, but as you can see ^^ i have plenty of air circulation. but my main question is...how many plants can i fit in this space comfortably? and how could i maximize my yield? less plants with longer veg times? more plants with almost no veg time? i also would like a short harvest time. no more than 3.5 months.

Eight plants in 5" pots. FIM at 3rd true node, let the 4 colas get 2' Super crop (bust each of the colas down) flower till done. 6 zips dried and cured.

your gonna have to help me a little on that bro, lol. what does FIM at 3rd true node mean. and i have to no idea at all what that last bit meant. sorry like i said im a noobie grower, so i dnt know too much.

seems like you are on the right track. here are a few suggestions: you need the same watt bulb with the same watt ballast (unless it is a dimmable ballast such as a lumatek). also you will need a good strong fan to draw air through your filter for exhaust. If you go with the fox farm nutrients get the whole line (tiger bloom, big bloom, tiger bloom, open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha ching) the solubles might seem expensive but they are worth it in the long run. as far as the amount of plant you would be good with 2-4 but if you grow sog you can do 16 clones in 6x6.

alright thanks for that. i was planning on putting a fan in with the carbon filter, i jus forgot to include that. i think 4 plants would be a little too crowded in that space. i cant get a bigger tent because that 2x2x4 tent actually fits perfect in my closet and thats the only available space for the tent. but one other question. if i have 2 different strains growing together at once they will probably end up touching eachother. im ordering aurora indica feminized and nypd feminized so i kno there wont be pollinating problems, but i dont kno of any problems that could occur otherwise. could any problems occur if the plants are touching??

I hope you plan on getting an air cooled reflector for so many watts because a 250 alone will get too hot.

Not too much light, too much heat. As was noted before, your bulb wattage and ballast wattage should match.

You might want to consider the TEK-4 from HTG (High Tech Garden Supply). It is a 2'x2' fixture with 4 PLL-55w HO bulbs, with a total of 20,000 lumens. That will give you your 5000 lumens/sqft and fit inside the tent AND with much less heat.

go my profile , CMH CLUB (club im in ) thats the kind of light you want, uses the S51 balast ( i think normal ballast) CMH is Ceramic metal halid , it offers Full spectrum ( gives hps and mh )

best of both world , never need to change lights . same price also and links to buy it , in cmh club info link

1 fan inside pushing air upwards, and youll need 1 pushing air outside tent , and one fan shooting air inside
