2x2x4 grow tent - What style of grow would you have?

Hey guys, I originally started this post a while back but it got deleted when the site got hacked into

SO we start again!

I have a 2x2x4 (60x60x140) grow tent and I am going to grow either white widow, blueberry cheese, or a big bang strain.

I will be growing with a 250w cfl, 1 red and 1 blue (for veg and then swap for the flower) or who would recommend a different light, its gonna be summer, so i need to keep heat down and of course the ole electricity bill.

My question is ......... What style would you grow to get the best yield?

From the last time I was on here, doing a scrog sounded like the best option.

Anyone had any good results with this? I am also thinking about an auto pot or something for hydroponics.

does anyone here have an opinion of using a hyrophonic setup or a plain ole soil medium and is their that much of a difference?

Scrog will be your best bet. No more than two plants at a time.

sounds like youre just getting started so i would suggest going with soil for your first grow. cfls are 'acceptable' for veg but you will def need an hid. 400w should be appropriate for that space. if done properly scrog may be your best choice for optimum yields, and mind your height (flower around 6"-8") as not to overgrow your space.

I think 400w would be a bot over kill, considering space, although it has been mentioned that a 250w hps may be a better option.

Good shout about when to start the flower cycle though, I have been thinking about it.

Am I right to think that the plant will increase in height by about 2 to 3 times when switched? If they look like they are gonna hit the top i suppose i can always bend them however i don't want be in trouble with too much plant height.

Just been told I could expect 4oz dry if all goes well with White widow, seems high, what do you reckon?

you may run into heat issues with a 250 w. I have the same size area and have good ventilation on a 150 w hps and still run around 80. I know plenty of people have said 250w is the only way to go but 150w is actually made for a 2x2 area.

nice, what kind of yields do you achieve with the 150?

still growing. they are not lacking in growth though.
