2x2x5 tent setup help.

I have a venting question. im currently on my first grow and I cant seem to find anything on intake, bringing air into the room. I have a 4" duct fan as exhaust right now and im using a 4" fan to bring air in. I have read that intake is not need. my tent is in a closet and im using a mars hydro 300 watt light, I have a 6" clip on fan in the tent. I have 3-3gal pots in the tent. I added the intake fan today, but I have a problem. I don't have duct holes on the bottom on flaps. so I ran a 8' foil ducting from the top going down to the bottom. but I think its losing power sending air down the duct. what would be the best way to set up ventilation?

I’m sure the plants are getting plenty of fresh air through the zipper and other seems or window flaps on the tent. You should be fine with ventilation but you’ll need more light.

Your going to have to vent the hot air out of the room your tent is in otherwise it will steady climb.

Your better off having a bigger intake than what you have going out. I run a 4in fan going out and a 8in and a 4in going in. Your going to need air and temp/humidity control come late flower.

ok thanks. can I shorten the duct hose? its an ipower 100 cfm duct fan. am I losing power from 8' ducting? its 80 in the closet and 80-83 with the lights on in the tent. im thinking about getting fan going in the closet to cool it and maybe that will lower the temps in the closet. this is my first grow so im trying to figure this all out. and im going to get another 300 watt light when I get into flower.

right on my brother! so I should get a 6" fan then. that's the size of the duct vent. and have it setup the same way?

The 4in going out is fine, you just need a bigger intake.

I am doing to order a 6" 240 cfm duct fan. im also going to get a fan to cool the closet also. right now its at 82 and 47%. I also found a 6" vortex fan on craigslist im going to use for exhaust and carbon filter set up.

Just open the closet door. Don’t bother getting an intake. Get more light if anything.

Growing in a closet with a tent gets hot, real quick you have to vent the heat out in my experience.
In my 2x4 tent it will go over 95 degrees if i'm not venting out the heat into another room. I'm also running 800w of light too.
I use a 6 inch fan to vent outside of the closet and I just open a vent to let the air in.

Have to vent the air out, having a intake fan is not going to help. Hot and humid is not going to be good in flower when your watering every day. This game isn't easy or cheap lol

this is starting to get interesting! so @Tyleb173rd I don't need a intake fan? im going to get 300w viparspectra and wont that cause more heat? but im also going to run a 6" exhaust fan and carbon filter on the outside of the tent. I've heard that with just exhaust I should be ok because the tent is so small. homies im just trying to get this dialed in! good looking out Ty

Ok it’s been a while so here is a little update on the tent. I got my carbon filter and exhaust fan hooked up yesterday. The temp are staying at 78-80 and my rh is being controlled with a humidifier during veg. I’m going to ditch it in flower. My rh without it is 45-50% so I think that’s going to be good for the flower stage. I’m running the exhaust 24/7 and with lights out my temps only go down to 74-76. Before the exhaust I was dripping down to 72-74 lights out. I ended up getting a vortex 6 inch fan with a terra bloom filters. Thanks have a 4 inch intake fan and 2 fans running in the tent. 1 at light level and 1 at canopy level. I have a fan blowing in the closet and I ave a oscillating fan in the bedroom circulating air with the window open bringing in fresh air. And at night I run the ax to bring cool air. I came up on 5 boxes of mills Nutrients so I’m goIng to right n those for flower with bloom yellow bottle flower nutrients. I folier fed today with the mills Vitalize. I had to flush this week because my girls were looking a little strange. So I ran some water and checked the ppm and it was in the 3000s on the 3- 3 gal pots. So I brought it down to the 900-1000 l veg and I’m going to let them feed off what ever is left and then will start will the full mills line. Since the flush that are looking good so I’m think I might of had some lock ou going on. I also got bl seed with 3 clones.

The crosses are something the homie e is working on. So I’m happy to be running some good genetics. I als have the
24k clone and I got a cookies and cream clone from the other homie 2 weeks ago and my last surviving bag seed is looking good.
