2x4x5 tent--do I need intake fan?

Hello,

Really getting different advice from google here.

Tent is 2x4x5
MARS TSL2000 LED
4 passive 6in intakes
390 CFM 6in exhaust

So, what is the best route here, do I really need intake fans, and if iso, does it need to match my exhaust CFM?

You wont need intake fan if you can leave your passives open for the entire grow. Some cant for light reasons.

think exhaust fan will do the job. That would suck the balls off a fly if it gets too close. 2x my exhause and half the area. Best of luck on a successful grow.

So you’re working with 40 cubic feet of air, your CFM of 400 (max) will be 200 with a carbon filter, 100cfm @ 50%, 50cfm @ 25% etc. With your fan set to 2-3 and an open intake port, you should already be cycling more than your tents capacity for air while replacing it with air sucked in through your open port, so I don’t see a benefit in implementing an intake fan. That said, you could do a makeshift filter of some sort for that intake vent to keep pests and light from creeping in. Happy growing!

Awesome feedback, this place is really great! I went big with the exhaust because I'm going to use a carbon scrubber eventually.
