Hey guys... here is the deal.

PH = 5.7
doing a aero setup with 6 misters in the tank.. and a large airstone.
1/2 dose of 3-1.5-4 nute.
3 drops of super thrive.
The plants are anchored in with hydrotons..

temps are 76 with 27%-32% humidity.

I switched these plants over to hydro yesterday... most of the plants are doing good cept for my largest.. and one other.

what can cause this?? shock??

Here is a pic

could it be from light getting into the res?? i taped up everything... even with duct tape... the lid i used black flexfix tape.. and used coconut cobers with cardboard... the roots getting to much water??

It could be shock, if it is they'll look better in a day or two. Overwater is possible to, but I'm thinking it's just shock.

dude! you should only be using the ultra ponnic fogger too shoot nutrients on your roots.that way it grabs the nutrients when it needs too. you wont over water this way.

You should probably cut back on the water. Make sure that the roots aren't submerged in any water too. If you can, pick up some HydroGuard and add it to the water. It really protects the roots from everything.

well its not really fully in the water.. about 7 inches of root is hanging in the air while being misted.. and the rest is in the water... which has 1 air stone in it... creating oxygen bubbles... more air stones?!??

You are getting some really bad advice.

You cannot over water in dwc.

I think you should take the temperature of your nutes.

If it is over 70º then you need to try and get it down.

There are a few things you can do.

First, cover the lid with something more reflective,
even white paper plates would help.

Cut them to fit around the plants so they shade the rez,
until your plants do that.

Next you can blow air into the rez to reduce the temp.
Just having some air blow over the surface will cool the rez a lot.
Here is a picture of one growers solution, maybe you can add a computer fan like this.

Just one small fan can drop the temp in your rez a lot.

The ideal solution temp is 68ºf
17ºc

Temperature is the main culprit of a bad hydro experience.

If you can control the temp then you will have a great grow.

Your plants don't look that bad to me.

It looks like you are growing a couple of different strains of cannabis in your dwc.

You are doing great. Don't get to anxious.

added the fan :) and now the res is much cooler.. thanks!!

hopfully now my plants will do better...

Is it ok if i add like 2 galons of water that is PH'ed to 5.5 and add 1/4 dose of nute and add this to my res?? the water seems to be going down the past 3 days.

Do you have a TDS meter?

Adding nutes back without a tds meter
will usually cause the nutes to become too concentrated
and you will have nute burn.

Always add plain water,
and then check the pH.

If you pH adjust plain water,
and then add it,
it will "unbalance" the solution
and the pH will be off again.

If you do not have a tds meter your safest way to proceed is to change out the nutes and start the process over each time.

Ok PH is 5.6

Using filtered water from the fridge. (reads 250 PPM)

TDS reads 650 PPM in res with new water (added only 1/4 dosage this time... rather than 1/2 and got 850-900 PPM)

Temp inside the res is now 19* C (66* F) :) added an extractor fan.

WOW... that link has a lot of useful info!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks Earl!! I really do appreciate it! you have great knowledge :) im glad your helping me.
