3 week vacation

Me and all of my closest friends will be going away for 3 weeks for winter break. We want to set up some sort of watering system while were gone. Theres nobody who can come in to help our plants while were all gone. Any tips or advise on how to set up a 3-week watering/care system would be awesome. The 20 plants are about 7 weeks old, big and healthy. Theyre in a closet with ventilation, 2 cfls and a hps. We used a miracle grow seedstarter soil with some crappy dirt. Were all poor college seniors without jobs for next year so budget and time are important.

then stay and finish your crop and you'll be not so poor college seniors. Not a good time to be abandoning a grow.

3 weeks is a long time. There are some things you can try but I would def try to test before you head out. Like a upside down 2 liter bottle with a small hole and a tube, with the tub in the soil. Aqua glob theory. Also a bucket with a pump and some splitters, kinda a drip system on a timer. Thats all I can think of for now. Hope that helped

you need to figure out how to move the lights up too or your plants will grow into them and burn!

3 weeks away , 20 plants at 7 weeks old, ummmm good luck...

Don't abandon your crop for 3 weeks. A lot can and probably will go wrong. pests, growth into lights, ph and mineral problems, etc.

might as well just pull them

dude watering and feeding is just one problem....they will more than likely grow into the lights during that time also...i would have to miss this trip and watch my investment...

you gotta find someone... or dont go. never going to make it.

were all college students with parents dying to see us over break.

anyway, i think ill try the empty soda bottles and raise the lights higher. i just wish we knew sum1 trust worthy enough thats gonna be here over the break. of if sum1 could convince their parents to let them go back early. but this wont likely happen.
any tips or links on setting up some cheap system to keep the lil guys alive?

alot can go wrong if u leave things like a fire could start cause the plants get to close to the light or water overflow from the timer ur gonna need to use for ur automatic watering system dont work properly. shit like that is what u really need to be worried about
