300 CFM too much?

I have a 3x3x8 ft size grow room. I already have a filter thats 4 inches in diamater, and 12 inches long that I got on ebay. It has a orion 110 cfm axial fan attached to it. I heard that 110 is enough, but Im concerned because it IS a axial fan, though its a AC fan, not a DC. Its rated at .28 static pressure, though I have no idea what that means

I was considering upgrading to a 300 CFM Soler & Palau fan, the TD-150 and just attaching it onto my current filter, but Im concerned that it will be too fast and the odors wont asorb properly.

Is that fan too much? Or should I go with the TD-125 at 200 CFM

Up, anyone know the answer? Ive seen a chart or table around here somewhere for the best CFM to use based on the size of the filter, as well as the room, but I didnt save it

Well as far as i know, every filter is rated differently. So what you need to find is that max airflow that your filter will allow. Is this possible?

If not, i would try to find one that looks very similar to yours, for sale on grow shop stores. I would then base my cfms around that.

You are right though, too much air will result in odors. HOWEVER, more cfms is better then less. Try also to get a fan that can be put on a variable reostate. Then if the cfms are too much, you can simply turn down the fan.

Looks the closest to mine. According to the statement there, a 8x8x8 room only needs a 100cfm fan to clear it out in 5 min.

If thats the case, why do I see these people with smaller cab grows with a 400-500 cfm inline fan? Isnt that just overkill?

def not too much. if you planning on putting a filter on then it will be fine. also what type of lighting are you going to have because the amount of heat in the room will is also a factor in amount cfms you should get. I would go for more then not enough.

That size filter you have is extemely small. I would only go with a 90Cfm blower.

with a 400w i would atleast go with 400cfm inline fan and then put a speed controler on it. This would give you better temp control. 400w's get hot. GL

stay with the 110!!! cfm basically is how much air you want moved.. i have that two pull about 90-100 cfm apiece and they work fine i hooked em up to a lamp dimmer to control the speed
