Found our first male plant today :'( had to make room anyways.

Now, could I per say... extract the THC outta this plant and make hash oil or something? would there be enough thc to be worth it?

"The Sex Appears Around 7-14 Days After The Lights Have Been Changed To 12/12. " is stupid advice. Plants will
show sex after being in dirt for about 3-4 weeks. Doesn't make any difference if the lights are 12/12 or 20/4. Each
strain has different genetics that tell the plant to show sex.

Present grow has 2 autos and a dozen non-autos. The seedlings went into dirt 30 days after being in my 20/4 veg room.
One of the autos, Royal Dwarf from Royal Queen Seeds, was showing sex at 20 days in dirt and well before
I switched the lights to 12/12.

From your pix you should be able to sex them pretty soon. Watch for small growths on the main stem right where the larger fan leaves
stem meets the main stem. The little pea-sized growths will hopefully show 2 small hairs growing out of top. That's your female. In your
case it would be a good idea to yank out the guys as soon as you can identify them. Plants typically double in size during flowering and
you can use the room, eh? One note -- if you are not very experienced in sexing plants be careful about identifying males right off the bat.
After you "think" a plant is male wait another week to make sure. Sometimes what initially looks male will turn out to be female after a few
more days flowering. Wait until you are sure as males will not be able to disburse pollen for many more weeks.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Big that is because they're autos you moron. Autos flower based on their genes.

Male plants have thc; unless they haven't flowered long; based on genes some even have more than the females, but they produce seeds because they sex females and seeds suck; so we cut males or pinch pollen sacks.

Hey everyone, an update. Plants are looking mighty fine now. there are 4 left. still working with the limited space. started using miraclegro pro flower every 3 days. that seems to really be inducing budgrowth! check em out at 2 and a half weeks into flower.

experimenting with low stress training using a thick wire and an orchid plant clip.

Hey man glad to see you topped your plants. One suggestion. If you continue to grow at this rate, you will have nice top buds, but the entire bottom half of your plant will be useless. Either trim all the bottom branches off and keep the leaves on, or train the plant to grow from one wall to another, and let the buds grow in an upward direction. So the plant grows at a 45 degree angle, and all the buds grow straight up. Also add more lights.

Nice cab man good choice keep us updated on how it goes. Plants are starting to look nice as well
thanks for checking back up on my plants man! im excited to get working on the new box because this small one leaves me still thirsty for taller plants.. im hooked now! theres no turning back.
hey i have a question, is there a certain light wattage to plant ratio or is it based on the space available? ive been wondering how many light fixtures to set up in this new box for maximum lighting with cfls. the dimensions of my box are 3 feet tall by 2 feet long, 14 inches deep. any advice would be helpful. thannks

There is not really a light to plant ratio when you are working with cfls. The general rule of thumb is, the more lights the better. The plant to light ratio really only effects larger cultivators, like multiple thousands of watts. I suggest you skip cfls and move onto either a small led light or a small hps light. However, if you were to stick with cfls, I would suggest you put as much lights as you can get away with. Start with 4-5 cfls, and move up. Play around with it.

If you don't get more light to hit the bottom branches more (side lighting or a stronger light to penetrate more), your bottom branches will look like 3 pistils and a leaf instead of full buds.

the only way i can see to fix that would be trimming some leaves or adding more lights witch i can't.will trimming some of the top leaves hurt the bud any? like i could do a little bit but im just worried the top buds will suffer? what can i do?
