3rd Grow Newbie - 6th week into flower - pistils turning brown

Hey guys, 6 weeks into flower and the pistils seem to be turning color. And it's not just at the top of the buds, I will include a pic that shows part way down the cola they are starting to turn as well. Is this normal for some of them to die off? Other than that it seems very healthy. I am still running 12/12, but thought about going to 10 light 14 dark. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.002.jpg004.jpg

I think the pistols will turn red when the bud is ripening. I'm not an expert just telling ya what I was told. Ya want a certain percentage of the pistols red.

I was told it's another way of telling when to harvest. By estimating the percentage of red to white pistols. But checking the trichomes is more reliable? But like I say that's just passed along not sure how accurate the info is

what strain? you could have a strain in which th pistils are suppose to change another color. fire og has red and brown, purps, what strain

Watch the trichs on buds not leafs
Clear= no THC
Cloudy= max THC
Amber= THC degrading

trick is finding the bitch where it’s almost all cloudy few clear few amber on your tops your uppers will be in zone before lowers and different strains can be very different flower times Even what they day on pack is Best case 7-9 weeks usually 9 unless you have a great setup, lights and NO stress to the plants. Flower starts day you seen hairs not the day you flipped to 12/12 also.

Ok thanks man right now I'm learning just on my 3rd grow. Thanks for the info.

Yep your on it, they grow them selves just let them tell you what they like keep them cool and aerated, especially as the buds stack and fill and late in Blume. I like mine at 65 at night and never over 75 under lights , cooler than most but I think the terps come out better for taste and smell when cured right.

I always tell myself one thing when the garden frustrates me “these things are fucking WEEDS, I could throw them in a damp ditch and they would grow 8 feet tall”!
