1st grow, I'm wondering should I remove some foliage, for more light to get to the bud sites?

You have a well spaced out plant. Removing leaves would be to get more light to the lowers...I would not. It looks v good to go the distance with no changes imo.

Have to agree with CC, at most just a few of the large fans.

You can also tuck leaves.
