I think it would work if you ran them in parallel but am not positive. Why don't you just turn them down? They have dimmers don't they?I have 2 hlg 240 48ab kingbrite leds but my hight is minimal.
Can I run 4 boards on 1 driver ?
Or should I run the 2 drivers and 2 boards separately at half power?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
It's a pretty stupid question really but I don't know very much about this "hobby" at all.I think it would work if you ran them in parallel but am not positive. Why don't you just turn them down? They have dimmers don't they?
I would have just dimmed them so each is running at half power. I missed that you could dim them. It's a pretty stupid question really but I don't know very much about this "hobby" at all.
I connected the 4 boards together with 1 driver and it was obviously way brighter but I wasn't 100% sure that it was safe.
Wanted to know some opinions

Ok thanks.. I did add the other 2 boards the other night and it worked fine,it was way brighter but was unsure on safety.Yes you can do all 4 boards on one driver, its better than 4 boards on 2 dimmed drivers for efficiency. Dimmed driver are less efficient than on full power.
No issues with doing this as long as the boards have same voltage. 60w each. Fans are probably over kill; those sinks are designed to handle 240w so 120w should be easy.Ok thanks.. I did add the other 2 boards the other night and it worked fine,it was way brighter but was unsure on safety.
Is the 240w split evenly between the 4 boards?
Is there anything I should keep an eye on like heat? I have 120mm fans on top of the heat sinks to help
.
Thanks.
Ok thanks. For the space and height I have just the 1 driver n 2 boards should be enough but 4 gives a better spread of light.Yes, the power is split evenly between the 4 boards
Don't worry about safety issues, Mean Well's got your back with several built-in safety features, and if you wired it wrong one or more boards simply just wouldn't turn on, so it's pretty foolproof
Yes, more light equals more/better bud but with a bit of training and topping you can get a level canopy, and then have the lights close to the plants.Ok thanks. For the space and height I have just the 1 driver n 2 boards should be enough but 4 gives a better spread of light.
Does more Watts equal more bud ? Can I get good results with 4 boards @240w
I dont think thats actually correct, the diablos red diodes (samsungs rather than previous crees) cannot tale reverse current and wil fry if you wire it the wrong way. At least its what i recall from the time when hlg changed up and stopped selling the diablo as a loose board direct ro clientsYes, the power is split evenly between the 4 boards

Yes. When you run each board softer its forward voltage is a bit lower but max out current stays the sameOk quick question...2 boards powered by 1 hlg 240 48ab is drawing 245ish and the 2 boards n heatsink are hot but touchable..
I have added the other 2 boards and connected them by attaching the wires in the connectors spare on the board so from the driver the 4 boards are wired the same in line..the light has obviously increased but the power from the wall has gone down to 233w.. is that normal?
