4 weeks of growth

hey all,

These babes have just about 4 weeks of growth (26 days). How're they lookin'?

The tallest has been topped twice and stands about 8". The rest are 6-7" or so, except for the two runts which are about 10 days younger than the rest. I'm hoping to get 4-5 females. I'm planning on switching to 12/12 once they get about 10-12" tall, but they seem to have stunted vertical growth somewhat. It seems they're beginning to bush out, which is good, actually. Exactly what I want. I'm in no particular hurry to start them flowering, however grow space is somewhat limited.

They may look overwatered, but they're not. If anything they're currently underwatered. I'm letting them dry out a bit before the next feeding. I've noticed some yellowing/spotting on the lower leaves of some of them...my guess is they're under-fed. in fact, i've only fed them nutes once, the last watering, at about 1/2 stregnth. Trying to be carefull with this batch being only the second second grow. I had a whole bunch of 'issues' on my first grow. Don't want to repeat the same mistakes.

Question: At the end of a long day of light, ~17-18 hours or so, is it normal that the leaves begin to point down as shown in the pics? Do plants get tired? Or is it that these particualar pots are too small and therefore somewhat root bound?

The pots are only 5 1/2" square by 6" tall. I figure once they go 12/12 and show sex, I'll transplant the females into larger pots and cull the males.

Plants don't get tired and leaves, typically, shouldn't point down. Think it's a good idea you're adding some nutes given your spotting issues. If you have to water the plants fairly often then they could be root bound. :peace:

Depending on your grow space, transplant into 5gal or 7gal smart pots. you dont have to go smart pots but they allow GREAT breathing for roots and growth space! your watering method sounds nice (full strength, then dilute) i have a 55gal res. i make the full strength batch of nutes at the beginning of week and then water, then dilute for next h2o sesh then dilute one more time for h2o sesh then restart at the beggining of week. makes for a nice easy flush at the end of the harvest as well.

grow space is at a premium, aproximately 48"w x 48"h x 18"d. prior to watering, I gave them a tug and pulled them completely out of the pot root ball and all. The soil came out shaped like the pot. The roots are crawling up the sides of the pot, so they are root bound. I'll have to put them in 12/12 soon to find and cull the males, then I'll plant the females in 3 gallon pots. I will likely re-veg all the females after harvest, and the ones that survive will become mother plants, assuming the bud is what I'm looking for. I'd really like to let them get 12" before flowering, but I doubt they'll get much taller in these pots.
