400 hps yield.. ..

curious of how much of yield i could expect from a 400 in an 8 sq. ft. area?? i know genetics and technique play into this. but i'm curious of a rough estimate.

i've heard of the .5 per watt estimate. but is that accurate?? .9? i would think that you have to be doing EVERTHING right, with no speed bumps to get that kind of yield. but is that a modest estimate. .9 per watt?

Well. .5-.7 per watt is the average persons but if you have experience in an Hps system. like you said .9 is like for someone who has an ideal grow growing. And also the amount of light penitrateing the bud sites and the main stalks also add to ur ratio grams/per watt.
Im upgradeing to a 400w like this week. So ill let you know how it is. I have one plant going. i plan to harvest 1.5 zips. If everything goes right.

In my closet, 400w HPS, I usually flower three plants under it at a time. I usually get anywhere from 2.75ozs to 4oz's dry. Big thing is the plant selection, LSTing, and how long you veg. Good luck.

nice man... i'll look out for your grow. I'm also upgrading from cfls. You should get way more than one and a hlf oz. out of it. I get at least 2 1/2-3 oz. out of a 300+ cfl grow.

that's actually a bit scary.. maybe i should go for a 600. I do lst alot and try and veg for at least two months.. I have a 2x4x5 ft. tent but like i said... i usually yield about 3 with my cfls.. hmmm.. so i figure i'll flower out my 4 this grow. and then maybe try and throw two more in there. when they're finished.. but rep guys.
i know it's not an answer i couldn't find on my own. but i just wanted to hear about some experiences with their 400's ..
anyone else is welcomed to chime in with their yields and details about their methods under 400

I hope i get 3 oz's i would be set for a couple of months. Do you think my plant would be able to harvest all that nugget?

It's hard to do any better than 1 gram per watt, which is 400 grams in two months. Considering you're asking this question, I'd say you'd be lucky to get .5 grams per watt, which is still 7 oz. If you put 4 plants in there, you can expect at least 1 oz per plant.

sounds good .. sounds right. I don't have any experience with hid's just cfls. so do keep my hopes too high. so .5 per watt roughly ..I'd be ok with that considering around 3 oz is what im getting out of my space now. that sounds more realistic. then again .. 3 oz's for 300 watts of cfl wasn't too bad either, a 400 would've boosted me big time .. the girls were tied down so they were no higher than two feet.

I didnt LSt but i shall tie down the side branches to get light to the main stalk.
Take a look at my grow nd tell me what you think i could harvest!

4 ounces sounds like a good guess. I pulled 4 ounces off 265 watts of LED and flouro and I am not a great or even good grower. 2x2x5' tent. You have to fill the light footprint of your light with buds, that is how you get the big numbers.

The strain you are growing will affect your yield by a lot too.

im growing lemon g. not sure what typ of yield this gets. the info ive dug up said it was a ohio based clone only strain... but i somehow got it.+D cant wait im choppin this weekend. check out my profile ill post some pics
