400 watt hps on sprouts

i just germinated a sugar haze seed that i found in a bag, i havea 400 watt hps soo how many inchest above the sprout should it be

waste of electricity right now, just use some cfl's or flouro's till it is like 5 or 6 inches. Otherwise just put the light on make sure it is nice and hot then put the back of your hand over the top of the plant. If your hand gets warm, to close, usually about 12 to 14 inches. but the hand method is the best in my opinion.
