What light would be suitable for growing 9 plants in 100x100x200cm grow tent?

Temps need to stay low because i sleep in the room, thanks. :leaf:

I'd imagine a 600w would cover your floorspace well enough to produce good bud. 1000w would be more than enough, but the temps would be an issue.

6" ruck fan, cooltube, carbon scrubber, i plan on using SOG method, will 600wat hps be enough for 9 plants?

i would go for the 600w if you want to spend the extra dough on electricity and invest in on some ventilation. otherwise a 400w will be just fine.

if you plan on using sog method def a 400w. the light doesnt need to penetrate very far. even a 250w would work and you can put those suckers 4 inches from the plants.

I'm using a 400w for about that many, but I would like to upgrade to a 600w. If you have the extra cash to spend, get the 600w. It will have greater light penetration and will produce more bud.

A 400w ceramic metal halide would work great for the sog.... full spectrum.... your plants will get more out of that bulb than the 600........ and you can get it really close with a cooltube... may not even need one... use the money on co2... yield, yield , yield.... perhaps make a stadium for your sog and put your light verticle in a cool tube.... read Heath Robinsons verticle grows with small lights..... unbelievable....

Yea i hear most people who get a 400w regret getting the higher bulb, 600w it is then.

Any idea's of a good ballast, i have no clue whats decent ?

600 for sure! get a digi ballast and you can just fine tune it as you see fit. if you can swing it. here is my quantum 600 in a 80x80x160, its an absolute perfect fit however it is a bit overkill, but i like it like that

however with the 6 inch fan in that small space i found it necessary for a good intake fan to get fresh cool air in there faster and easier, really helps with the temps
unless you plan to route your light vent seperately, which i would have done, had the tent had accomadating holes

i would stay away from lumatek but thats just what i hear from the local store. advanced nutrients has a competitively priced line of digi ballasts out now, i have not heard anything but they have a good 5 year warranty i believe, it may be 3. im very satisfied with my quantum, whisper quiet

Your yield will be twice as much with a stadium grow in that tent with a sog..... like I mentioned,,, read Heath Robinsons journal....

I've got two lumateks and they're great digital ballasts. No noise, very little heat, and I haven't had any problems with them at all! Very nice ballast in my opinion. Not top of the line I might add, but haven't given me any troubles.

Straight from the lumatek website, even has a good warranty on them:

Lumatek is the worlds leading supplier of Electronic Ballasts to horticulture. With the arrival of Electronic Ballasts, a technological revolution has taken place in energy efficiency for HID lighting. This replacement of magnetic ballasts (a technology more than 100 years old) with electronic HID ballasts is because of the proven efficiency gains. Tests have shown that Lumatek ballasts are up to 30% brighter than some old style magnetic ballasts. Independent laboratory tests have proven that Lumatek ballasts are more efficient than any magnetic ballast known to Lumatek. This means more lumens are produced per watt of energy consumed.
Lumatek is the number one supplier of Electronic Ballast to the hydroponics and horticultural industries worldwide, and is proudly available in at least 13 countries. Lumatek products are sold into government research facilities, major nurseries, top universities and numerous publicly traded companies. This makes the Lumatek range the most proven product in the market, in addition we have the industries best warranty with 5 years covered (3 years full and two years pro-rated).

www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f8/cmh-more-effective-growing-7613/ ........look at the tasty buds at the bottom,,, yumm,,, lumatek are 2-3x as expensive as sun system... budget grow 2 600w switchable ballast retail... $150 or the cropmaster 400w,, about the same,,, retail.... btw,,, I only recomend the cmh 400w if you were doing the verticle grow with stadium.... any other and the 600 would be a better choice.... the cmh runs about 10 degrees cooler.... so I would spend the $ on co2 ,,, you want higher temps with it,,, so perhaps forget the cooltube...

I don't see how a 400w Metal halide will grow more buds then a 600w HPS... HPS are better for flowering they give off more red spectrum.

those MH sunpulse bulbs really have me interested , i may try them soon. ive heard MH is better for potency but your yeild suffers from using them solely. these sun pulse bulbs are the perfect par and spectrum for flowering , supposedly. and they're MH's

what caught my eye was the fact its a 600 watt metal halide, i could not find a 600 watt metal halide bulb , all conversion (with very very shitty lumen ratings for their wattage) And you can ch

pricey though and i havn't really seen any grows done with them,

light penetration isnt important if you do SOG,as long as the tops get good light.but the 600watt will still be better if temps can be controlled.

check this shit out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKn3HJwMH7k thats not me btw,it just gives you a idea of what you can achieve in a small space.
