400w hps bulb help!

Hi I have got a few 400w hps lights. the bulb is rondich and gives white/blue light. wil it work for growing? I am sure its hps!

Yes it will work

An HPS lamp typically gives off a yellowish appearing light, and requires a ballast to operate. Maybe you could post a pic of what you're working with and we could help you figure it out what it is.

You might have Metal Halide Bulbs there.

never mind I just got A new sun t hps bulb the one with the yellow light. I have 6 400w ballests Wuld it be beter to use the metal halide and the hps for a 4 plant grow??? btw must the bulb face down or horazontaly? Sorry new to the indoor stuff.

well it can face wherever you like with that many bulbs I'd scrog those puppies and maybe do a triangle uptop and then put the last one on a wall or vertically, you know? like, i've seen some cool shit. Personally i'm looking into colosseum growing, but also big SOGs are usually the most popuar and you've got four lights, perfect for that. but will you clone from a mother or go from seed?
