44 Special

Hello everyone, I started looking around & doing a little reading here and figured I'd sign up and share a little too.

Little back story... It's been a little over 22 years sense I smoked my 1st joint .
21 years sense I grew my 1st plant
I grew every year outdoors and learned as I went , after 6 years of outdoors(did some vegging inside) ... It was time to bring it inside and grow year round ... It was a cheap & fast setup, something that could be lost with out a lot of hurt. But it did the job.

After a couple years , it went from dirt , to rockwool flood n drain tables . Then I started moving around for work etc and the couldn't keep the dream alive.

I met a girl and started slowing down, had a new place with a huge garage...
One day I decided, well I need a garden, I was running a 8x8 room with a friend doing my vegging at a different location. Long story short , it didn't go well. I pulled the pin. Sold all my gear.

I took almost a 10 year break
I was in an accident that left me with a lot of metal pieces & pain for the rest of my life .

I got my medical scrip, and filled out the paper work to produce my own , with the research I did , I knew I had about 5-6 months to prep.

My goal is to produce the best medicine for my family and I.

Here's my grow... its a work in progress

I'm calling this grow "44 Special"
Because I'm a gun nut & this is a revolving stage growing style & I'll be using 4 plants under each light in the flowering room & I'll have 44 plant total . And I'm shooting for 4 pounds a light So I think the name is fitting .

I built 2 vegging closets . With 5 different vegging spots .2 weeks each stage & 1 flowing room
One closet is almost 36"x36x9' the other is 24"x48"x9'
The flowering room is 14.5'x6.5'x8.5'

I decided to put the $$$ into flowing and cheap out on veg because I had a budget

Things I wanted... 4 high quality strains,
Indica, sitiva, CBD, & a high breed . And they couldn't go longer then 8 weeks of flowering .

I started looking around for clones , and wasn't happy with what I found , I bought seeds.

There's a store near by that had CK fill line so I grabbed 4 packs of 5...

I started in the 2x4 closet with a 5 pack of beans . I started them in peat under 125w CFL. All 5 popped but one was far behind so it got pulled .
This closet will be run 24/7

This closet was originally going to be just for moms, but that got cut . Currently on the top level I'm running 3 250w CFLs
Below that I have 3 T5s


The other closet has 3 250w CFLs
And T5s on the bottom same as the other one, cloning takes place on the bottom(2weeks)
Then moved to the side in the same spot in small pots to build the root zone, (2weeks)

Then to the other T5 site in the other closet
2weeks , then back to the 1st closet on top
Under cfls ...2weeks then to the 2x4 closet for the last 2 weeks , then down into the flowering room for 8 weeks ,
The flowering room has 4 DE 1000 hps
4 plants to a light .

When I fired up my room I only turned one light on to work out some bugs etc.

I start in 1" rockwool, then to 250ml pot
To 750ml pot, to 1 gallon to 3 gallon to 10 gallon geo pots .


For my first run I used 2 cbd plants that really didn't impress me during veg.

But needed to get timers , programmer & controllers all working together .

I planned on using 50g res for each light with a drip system, this turned out to be a pain .

I set everything up , said good by to my wife and gave her a list to follow (lol) I'm goin to Europe for 3 weeks .
I get back and found problems and solutions,

I went to hand watering and pulled tons of res' , pumps , water lines timers etc .
