Hello!
I'm starting this thread in order to document all aspects of my 4'x4' tent grow.
I've been scouring this forum (and the internet in general) looking for tips, tricks, and in some cases, basic instructions. This thread is open to all questions, comments, criticism and feedback. I imagine I will be asking a lot of questions as well. If you see anything that seems incorrect to you, or if you have a different/better way of doing something, please let me know! I'm here to learn.
This is technically my third grow, but this is the first time I've actually invested time and money in equipment and nutrients, and had the proper space/environment to properly cultivate cannabis. My first grow was a cabinet CFL grow from bag seed that I documented on RIU as well.
My second grow was with a few Candy Cane autos in the same setup. Both grows produced modest harvests, as all the plants in both grows stayed small in their confined environment, with limited light. This time I’m hoping to dial in a proper set up so that harvests will be bountiful moving forward.
THE GEAR
48”x48”x72” Grow Tent
2 x 1000W Bestva LED (Veg & Bloom)
1 x 600W Philzon LED (Veg & Bloom)
1 x 4” 200CFM Exhaust Fan
1 x 4” Carbon Filter
1 x Oscillating Fan
1 x Large Floor Fan
1 x Space Heater (small)
4 x 7 Gallon Fabric Smart Pots (26.5 litres each)
Plus outlet timers, multiple temperature and humidity readers, etc.
THE MEDIUM:
Promix HP (nothing added, wish I had added perlite.)
THE NUTRIENTS
Advanced Nutrients Micro, Grow, Bloom
Advanced NutrientsCalMag
(and Advanced Nutrients pH Up/Down)
THE WATER
I am using tap water with a pH of 7.0. I do not yet have a ppm pen, but I know the water is treated with Chloramine so I ordered a bag of Ascorbic Acid to mix in the water to help break down the chloramines before adding my nutrients and pHing.
THE SEEDS:
3 x White Widow Autoflower & 1 x Early Miss Autoflower from Crop King Seeds
I have run into multiple problems and set backs, but the girls seemed to turn out alright. One of the main issues was that the Early Miss was slow to get growing. She was the last one to germinate, the last one to pop out of the soil, and the last one to sprout a full set of fan leaves with 5 fingers. And the problems didn't stop there. Now, almost a full 2 months into flower and Early Miss is still only about 1'8" (one foot eight inches) fully grown. But, the bud looks amazing!
All 3 White Widow's grew quickly and healthily, with only a few mild set backs which were admittedly my fault.
I think that sums up the setup and what I have going, now let’s get into some some pictures and commentary on the process so far!
