48 hour res and foamy at the top

So Sunday I changed my room around a bit anchanged the res. I cleaned it all the tray and the res and res cover with some dawn solution. The res was clear still.

I didn't get around Sunday to hooking the exhaust back up so when I came into the room it was around 86 degrees on Monday afternoon about 24 hrs from fillup. I should have dosed it with h2o2 as it looked clear then still. Well it had a dark tint but that's normal for a few days after until the floramicro coloring fades away I noticed wiith my last grow. I didn't cause I figured there was still some chlorine left in the water.

I come into the room today and it smelled like aquarium. I become sad knowing that can't be good. So I look into my res and around the pump hose is this foamy red shit. Its like my floramicro color tint. I lift open the cover to see the same foam along the edges.

A res change cannot happen. Too muchtraffic here today. I dosed the 37 gallon res with 500ml 30% h2o2. Tried to listen for a fizzing sound but I couldn't hear a thing with the airstones going.

Should I handwater for now until I can do a change?

I feel like it was caused by root rot given the other symptoms my plants have been experiencing. One day in the mid 80's wasn't going to ruin that fresh batch. Especially since the res was 16C when I checked the PH yesterday. Which leaves me scratching my head wonder why the PH wasn't bouncing around if I had pathogens in the water.

Anyways I made the decision to end them. So I opened the worse one up and its roots were all light brown and dried. Had one good part that looked white and hairy. After cutting up the side of the RW the main root was brown and dried. My 3 day old sprouts are almost as big as the smallest of my 6 week vegged plants.

Trials of being a newbie I guess. Sucks but I will carry on and not repeat mistakes i've made, for the good of the plant.

Thanks masp84 for the early diagnosis.

Sounds to me like you have a fungus in Your res. So you will need to clean everything. And if you can't you will need new. Bleach will work to clean all piping but need alot of flushing to clear it. I use florakleen. But yes you need a full system overhaul. Hope that helps

I ended up cleaning it last night. But decided it had to of been caused by rootrot as I just did a full system overhaul as you call it warlock 2 days prior. The roots were brown and dried up and dead looking. Had a couple healthy white hairy spots, but for the most part that shiz was dead.

I dunno how it just exploded into a huge problem in 2 days time cause like I said the last res change was clear. This water I could barely see the pump and airstones in the water it was that murky. Most rank smell ive smelled in a while. There growth has been stunted like crazy, they're exhibiting yellowing of the leaves despite having an adequate 500ppm at an uptakeable PH. And the leaves were droopy.

Maybe they could have survived. I just know I didnt wanna walk into the room like that ever again.
