4ft florecent tubes for grow?

i want to build a mother room with the "shop light" with those florecent tubes. think the 4 footers. theres a bunch of different bulbs and is what i want to know is what kind or what type should i get, im looking at home deopt or lowes for this lighting. i would like to get tube thats got the blue and red light spectrum. any help would be sweet. thanks.

use "grow bulbs". can find 'em in the bulb section @ walmart for like 6 bucks apiece. They're in a green sleeve. I switched 'em (the outer sleeve they're in) out w/ the less expensive ones and get 'em for like 2 bucks a piece instead!
But they're really only good for veg.
During flowering you'll need a HPS to really grow thick buds. This is coming from personal experience. Don't waste your time trying to grow bud under 'em! (but great for vegging!!)

yea thats what i want to do. i have a 1000 w hps for the flower but i wanted to have a solid mother room and cloning room ill have to look at walmart tomarow.

I tried to find the bulbs for ya on wallyworlds website, but never could. they are there tho. and they will work for veg.

Well lets see here, You say you've already got a 1000watt hps for flower? If it were me I would definitley go with the 4 foot bulbs and maybe get 6-8 of them for your veg area.

i veg under shoplights 4' theyr great for vegging very low cost. you only need to get the white ones labeled "daylight" and theyr the most common type

I veg and have mothers under 4 ft florescent tubes, I like to get a blue and a red bulb in each, Something like "cool" for blue and "sunlight" or 'warm" for red. It works well for me. I cut way more plant material than clones just to keep the moms from getting huge. Good luck JR

thats just so you you can see what im up to. im debating weather i should wrap plastic around it or should i put wood up on the sides. those power boxes will be where the power comes in and im going to have outlets on the top for the lighting. this mother room is coming along pretty sweet. i still have to find bulbs lowes wanted 11 bucks for the plant bulbs but im going to see if walmarts got em cheaper.

ahh dont get those pplant bulbs jus get the t 12s they do great man trust me im usin some now on my current grow

Yeah, you may be better off getting plain old bulbs rather than the plant/aquarium bulbs.
They're cheaper and usually have a higher lumen output!

deffinatly a good idea. 4ft or 2 ft that is the quesion and the answer has to do with how many plants your trying to grow. got a buncha plants 4ft not that many shorter tubes. t5 is also the best type. less energy use.

I veg w/ 4 4ft 40w t12's.does great. I add 6 23w cfl for flowering. Today begining of wk6,i had to tie up all my colas cuz they fell over! U can flower w/t12& cfl!
