has anyone ever used this light to grow your crops?
If so... please advise me what are the growth difference between hps, mh, cfl, vs. led? and how many plants can I grow with 50w led & 90w led?
whats up man, I've been wondering the same thing too and currently just use a 250w mh / hps switchable. Im moving from closet to a tent though and I'm going to be setting things up differently using the LED route with a 90w UFO and some T5's on the sides.
I'm not sure if you've seen this video or not, but I'm pretty sold on the 90w UFO with the new frequency --
IMO you will always get the best results indoors using HID lights, HPS and MH. Cfls work aight as well. LEDs seem to work, but you still need a lot of them and they are really expensive. Personally, HID > cfls > LEDs
You could listen to people who've never used LEDs and just like to post so they can see what they write, or you could get a 90watt blue spectrum ufo and a 90 watt tri-band, then grow three 18" to 24" plants in a cab.
In a nutshell, HID requires 50 watts per square foot. LED requires only 10 watts per square foot. LED's cost less to run and give off virtually no heat. I use 2 90 watt UFO's in red spectrum. I have seen test where 1 90 watt UFO out performed a 400 watt HID system using ballast and HPS. Sunlight Solutions has the test on video. If you really want to know the difference its called research. Google each system and comparisons. Good luck.
NOT A QUESTION LED'z triumph over CFL. The real question is HID or LED? CFL buds results are fluffy and the trichome development is shitty compared to HID. Hence why CFL are cheap as fuck. LED budz taste AMAZING!
I'm doing both. Have a 1k hps in my tent and a 300w LED in my closet. Clone in closet is from female in tent. The 300w LED that I'm using is the equivalent of a 750w+ HID but without the heat, electrical consumption and sounds associated with.
