G Gor Active Member Sep 13, 2009 #1 I'm starting a closet soil grow and want to use 5gal buckets for pots. How many holes for drainage should I drill and should I have a layer of some kind of drain rock at the bottom? There will be 1 plant per bucket. TIA

Dirtyboy Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2009 #2 Those are to big of pot. If thats all ya got. I would just put a few holes in. That way the water will soak in and not just run out the bottom.
