Okay so first let me start off by giving you what im working with :)

Last 24 hour temps 79 89

5x5x6.5 - Grow Tent (162.5 CFM)

I Currently am running one 8 inch (210 cfm) at the bottom for intake, and i have a 4 inch clip fan hanging out a duct fan hole (its ghetto but it works for the time being)

Just one GH Waterfarm top feed, northern lights

600 watt hps
(I have the 3 set of GH should I go lucas formula or all three since i have it?)( i also have sensi bloom coco part a&b but im growing in clay pebbles))

So this is my first grow, atm not worried about smell atm because I live in the great state of Alaska, but here’s my questions, Should I buy a 4in or 8in duct fan? And lets say im gonna for sure use the 8in for output would i be able to run a 8in fan into a 4in filter? Would it be okay or should i just buy a 8 in filter and say hell with it and just completely overkill it?

And im going to be posting some pics of my plant it looks like a potassium level issue but idk :((

(I got a clone from a dispensary and it was in soil, so in order to move it into clay pebble hydro bucket i just poured warm water on it and i got a pretty good bit of it but not all of the soil but after i put it in my tent i made some mistakes and gave my little fella sensa bloom COCO (didnt realize coco was for growing in coco) to much light and burned him a little and some leaves turned a little yellow but then the bottom set of leaves died and i cut them but the plant looks healthy after i switched to lucas formula but im gonna post some pics and let yall help me decide my steps forward

your medium is in disorder .. at what ec do you feed them ? i would give them 1.2 ms actually .. with a big flush during some time
check the runoff ph and ec it will tel you whats happening inside

How long ago did you move it to the waterfarm?
Maybe it just doesnt have enough roots to support 90 degree wind blowing on it.
I have switched plants from dirt to hydro and vice versa. The soil to hydro got over the shock of it quicker than the hydro to soil plant. A little over a week before it seemed to get over the switch, and could handle full light, feedings etc.

Temps for last 24h.. 79-89

Is that lights off and light on temp or is that high and low temp?

Buy the 8" fan and filter, make sure its up to the job, meant for pulling through a filter, don't buy a duct booster.
Despite not having to worry about the smell you do want your fan to be as unimpeded as possible so sticking it on a 4" fan will not help the airflow, nor will it keep up with cleaning the air.

One day your going to end up replacing that 600 light for a 1000w or something more powerful so buy the 8" now or you will be buying it later.
Get a fan speed controller too. Your going to want to run that fan on low speed for a lot of the year but need the option of turning it up in summer.

I live in alaska so i have to run the fans pretty high bc i have the heat on, but thats what i was thinking, just go 8in and go, and thats lights on 24 hours a day, i just check on it every hour for temperatures too hot i open door and window on tent, too cold i close it all up, just trying to find the perfect house temperature + the right amount of grow tent open but it runs pretty great all zipped up as long as the bedroom door is open

You using that heat to help heat the home?

Yes! I just put a fan in door way and it provides a pretty defent amount of heat haha
With my grow I basically have radiant floor heating 24/7. Sucks in the summer but in the winter I only have to run the furnace if it's below 0f and windy.

Nice man! Do you ever have to worry about temperature
Well I have a 4 ton minisplit in each flowering room and a 1 ton portable in my veg room so that keeps things right. Since I have two flowering rooms on a flip I don't have to worry about the one thats dark getting too cool. I use a swamp cooler in my rooms to raise the RH% since it's so dry here in Colorado, often in the teens ambient. I usually only have to run a dehu when the lights are off and the plants are big.
