ok so I have a loft space with 1m x 1.7m with enough space to grow plants up to just under 3 foot (allowing for light and large pots 26cm tall pots)
I have only gown with florescent before so I am a little confused on HPS, from what I read a dual spectrum bulb will do me fine. Is this right?
How many plants should I grow practically in this space? I have plenty of feminized seeds, was thinking of 9 plants. But not sure what size pots to use?
I plan to get myself a cooltube for the light decent fans and acoustic ducting. Will I need 2 fans to push the air about 2.5m or will 1 powerful one do the job?
I usually grow in 12/12 from seed so will be doing this again as it also keeps the plants nice and low ideal for my space.
Still in the process of building this space. There is a good amount of space besides the area for the plants where I plan to put my irrigation system in.

9 plants should be fine, are you going to be in Soil or Hydro? Whilst cool tubes really do cool the lamps well, you'd be better off getting 'air cooled reflectors with the glass screen at the bottom, they will give out much greater coverage and intensity, and still cool the lamps very efficiently... 2 fans is always better, and are easier to silence (4" to 6") .. Growing 12/12 is fine but if you want the plants to finish roughly the same height give or take 6" its better to Veg them under 18/6 for 1.5 weeks first as the plants develop thicker stems/branches etc..
