I thought it had a fairly decent price for the things it included. I've spent countless hours shopping around for everything included in this kit trying to find better prices, but have not had much luck.

Seems legit, nothing is bottom of the barrel garbage, price is about right, you could get this stuff cheaper, but not these exact brands. I'd rather have a 4'x4' for that light, but the hood is pretty decent and you'll get great coverage in a 3x3 as long as the room your tent is in has an exhaust for heat. Getting it out of the tent is one thing, but wow it can build up in the room. I learned that the hard way.
Chase down low_baller on ebay and Amazon. - decent stuff, great seller, consistently good prices on the stuff they carry.

Quantum ballasts are solid. I run an ion 600 watt digital MH/HPS in a 3x3 tent and use a 6" inline fan to suck the heat out. With the fan running at full speed my highest temp this summer where 82 and that was with my ballast set on super lumens. Like was stated above, depending on the ambient air temp in the room housing the tent, further measures may need to be taken to ensure that the inside of the tent stays cool enough.

Thank you all for the input. I would rather run a 400w like you all stated, but cannot put a kit together any cheaper than this. If heat becomes an issue I have a window ac unit I would be able to use in the room.

I've looked through a lot of low ballers stuff on amazon, and they do have great pricing. My only issue is quality. I've read a lot of mixed reviews on apollo ballasts.
