630 CMH's?

If so what hoods/reflectors are you using? How much heat does it generate compared to a 600W? Do you air cool them or not? Is there any ballast besides the Galaxy made for the DE's that will work here?

I am in the process of getting one of my 600 W ballast replaced under warranty and just curious if the DE 630 might be a good fit. I will soon be outfitting a 5x9 with 8 foot height. I have the 600W and a SE 1K HPS which work fine for me in the past, but I really am interested in these. Just not sure if the heat would be too much etc compared to what would already be going in there.

Is it better to just get their complete fixture from GC, or source the bulb and get my own parts etc? I'd rather do my own thing with the bulb etc so I could remotely mount the ballast to help with heat.

Can't tell about the 630 de , but i'm running the 315 de from growers choice, the big thing is that cmh doesn't give off the Ir that hps does so it's a lot cooler to your plants. They can be run much closer. The hood im using gets hot at the top 1/3 and not even warm at the bottom whereas a de hps would be like a barbecue grill
