Don't shoot the messenger. I was just asking for opinions. Rather than giving a reply, you shot venom at the Republicans.

The article didn't say that people would lose their jobs. It said that of the additional future jobs that will be created there will be a bit fewer than if the government subsidized additional jobs. You can't run a government at a deficit that is 110% of the GDP. It has been historically shown that governments that run at above a 90% deficit have long term financial losses (we are generating no money and are running out of credit).

700,000 jobs will be lost and many many more no matter who's plan we use. The economy is dead, the dollar is dying, inflation worldwide is fueling anger and hate. The government has the Fed monetizing all the debt. Oil is purchased by the USA and that Money is used by the other nations to buy our Treasuries, in effect they are subsidizing the death of our nation and the value of their holdings. Once the dollar starts to devalue enough, China and Japan and Germany will dump their bonds and be rid of them, things will come unglued, Fecal matter will hit the rotating wind delivery system .

The USA needs to produce 1.5 million jobs a year to just to keep even with a 2% growth forecast. A new age of joblessness. There is nothing the politicians can do. it is now mathematically impossible to pay off the nations debt. They will kick the can as far down the road as possible before it all just come crashing down.

Cassandra indeed.

all we have to do is close the gap between the rich and the poor.

it's not rocket science, more like common sense.

you have 100 people, 99 homeless, and 1 billionaire. on average (on paper) each person is super wealthy, when you walk into the room all those "on average" multi-millionaires look a whole lot different......

All we have to do is take the checkbook out of the government's hands, ground them and put them on an allowance

I dont believe any of them
Its not that difficult , Every American has to balance there own banking and 90% of them do this and even have a little money left at the end of the year.
Why is it that the people that are suppost to be running this country cant do this ,they cant even run there own lives under the same rules as we have to so we give them the country to run
If we dont have it dont spend it .
Why is it they can cut schools, military, fire and police and the whole public services but do not talk about there saleries
I feel better wont chage anything but feels good to vent

I find it funny that they campaigned on creating jobs and now they may cut 700k of them.... and don't think those 700k just sit on their ass all day, they provide services to me and you, they answer inquiries, the phones, they process our checks, our returns, our taxes, etc.... When they are gone, your hold times, wait times, quality of service, accuracy, all will suffer. Along the same lines, the calls to end earmarks are silly, as that is Congressionally mandated spending that the constitution allows as state aid for local projects. Many of those earmarks provide jobs, improve the quality of drinking water, subsidize new schools, airport expansions, road work, new roads, etc.... Sure, sometimes it is abused, but out if legitimate projects are cut due to no earmakrs, guess who will pick up the tab for the necessary projects at home? That's right, the local homeowners and consumers paying sales and howowner taxes... either way, that needed road or airport expansion will be built.

On a political sidenote, the previous Florida administration under Charlie Crist accepted 2.4 billion dollars in federal stimulus monies for high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando, and eventually with Miami in the loop and Jacksonville to be added. Linking up major metropolitan areas with high speed rail is an investment in infrastructure. People that normally have no way to get out of path of hurricane can ride the rail and be on the other side, or top or bottom of the state in just an hour or two. People can take jobs in the cities and live in the burbs, like millions of other Americans do in cities with transit rails. 23k new jobs..... Our new governor is now being sued by his own senators because he has refused to accept the money.... his affiliation? Conservative big business. He wants nothing to do with Obama and surrounds himself with insurance and medical lobbyists, as he is from the very same industry before coming governor...

Jobs? no, they are out to line the pockets of rich constituents as they always have.... nothing new to see here... So when will they actually take up a job bill? LOL.... the tea partiers must be FURIOUS...

2012 will be a great year for liberals and the people in general...

well, you do know that quite alot of the public was morons that borrowed way beyond their means?

turns out the government was only stocked by those same idiots. to such a greater extent, its as if a person on a minimum wage, borrowed for the house, then got himself a pool and a ferrari, while still paying for college and then getting onto unemployment benefits after losing his job on purpose. then using those benefits as toiletpaper for a joke while taking another loan to hire a maid and then taking another loan to pay off everything and is now just crossing fingers for luck.

You can't maintain a country on debt, eventually our debt will no longer have value and when that happens countries will no longer loan us money and our government will not function. How many people will go to work for no pay check? Something needs to be done. I am an extremely liberal individual and I can still see the shit storm on the horizon.

Obama painted himself as a liberal, but he is just barely left over the center on the political spectrum. I remember seeing Obama on Real Time with Bill Maher two years b4 the election and his tag line was "Not your daddy's democrat." A liberal with conservative values.
