70w hps mini pc grow!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys well im at it again........ I decided to construct my first ever pc grow...The tower case being used is a coolmaster tower with 4 fans altogether with the option of adding 3 more....So far I have 3 for intake and one for exhaust.....I will be creating my own mini carbon scrubber from scratch as odor control will be mandatory as my strain to will be Rez dogs chemdawg double sour diesel.......stinky good........ the diminsions of the pc tower are h x 20in x 8in deep x length 23in....The fans will be powered by a simple 12v adapter at 800Ma that I purchased from radio shack....as the case was stripped bare naked and has no power supply....the light will be a 70w hps security light I purchased from lowes for 50 bucks...which I converted with a little help to a working remote ballast hps.... Since I have to make use of any valuble space available the ballast and power outlet will be placed outside the case not to mention that the heat from the ballast can make the temps much hotter inside the case......so that why I made it remote.....a few little pics for everone.......lol

Thats awesome man. Ive always thought about doing this. You are gonna need so much fucking ventilation. The plants are gonna burn so bad if you don't get it right.

Ha man thats awsome, i am a huge fan of mini/micro grows. i am starting my own pc grow soon but using cfl's. i like your HID pc grow. good luck i hope you get some buds from that!.. are you using lst or scrog?

No way you can get something to grow in there sharing space with the H.I.D, Theres just no space and whats available is right up against the bulb.

Thanks all for stopping by and showing much support.......lol.....this mini grow will be a side project to kill some time and have some small quality chit while my real grow gets finalized...........lol

First off speedhabit.....U will be very suprized what a small pc grow can do buddy....I have seen first hand of another few grows which all used hps security lights ranging from 50 to 100 watts and pulled of some nice buds off of 2 plants with some lst and scrogging techniques...even off a 1 plant grow I saw roughly about an 1 oz of dryed budd pulled of so its very possible my friend.......Dont knock it until u have tried it......I have also seen what cfls can do in a pc case and it also can produce some nice little nuggets of quality herb...only problem I have with them is space and u need quite a few in order for them to add up to one hps....Not to mention they can get quite hot also.....I will deff keep an eye on my heat as this and odor control are a pc growers worst enemy.....but im confident with 4 fans running and with the option of adding 3 more fans it should be pretty good......Worst case I will build a small mini cooltube for my light and exhaust the hot air right out of the case with a higher rated exhaust pc fan.......Again Thanks guys for stopping by and please grab a chair for this one......its going to be fun...

You got any mini oscillating fans? Just to blow over the HPS or somthing?

Yeah that can be arranged as well......lol........my main concern is the exhaust because my carbon filter will be set up against the exhaust fan and I need just the right amount of air in order for the filter to work efficiantly at eliminating odor.......right know the exhaust fan that is there isnt going to cut it.....its just too low.....I need something with higher cfms withought the risk of burnout.......

I like this. I don't think heat will be that big of an issue especially since you set it up on the remote ballast (good idea btw). I have two 70w HPS and I can get my plants within a couple inches of them without burn. They don't really put off that much heat and if you get a decent size exhaust up top with a little air circulation inside.. you should be fine. Hope I am not pissing on your show here but you will not be able to grow any bud in there. Just tooooooooooooooo small.

hey space cowboy maybe you do not know much about micro grows, this person is going to lst and yes you can grow bud in there, i have done it in a similiar size box. you just dont get pounds of bud

imagine you get arrested for a plant. imagine it starts a fire. those reasons and lets not forget its just too small and your gonna spend 2 months realizing it, then have to do something for real make for just not worth the time. sorry. i really am.

Space cowboy how about you shoot me a pm and I can direct you to a few grows.....that have been completed with an hps in a pc case.......Bearo 420 as I said before this a small stealthy grow that I will be doing to pass some time by......Not to mention that I do know the consequences to growing and also im a fully aware that I am not going to get a lot of bud out of it......Thats not why im doing it......Please guys lets make this a positive thing and not be so judgemental....like I said before dont knock it until u have tried it...... if its not ur cup of tea and are not interested in this type of grow then please show luv somewhere else....peace CM

Agreed. I am interested to see how this does, I bet VERY well as I have seen some PC Grows with CFL's but this HPS should do MUCH better. Keep it updated man- I`ll be checking back to see the journal.

oh and good idea with the remote ballast, that will take ALOT of heat away.
