I'm completely lost and the internet is filled with contradicting answers. I have a 70x70x160cm grow tent that I bought a few years ago that came with a 4" inline fan (137 m3h) and a carbon filter. I would assume that fan would be adequate for my room, but reading on forums everyone says it won't be enough. My question is what should the m3h be for my tent?? Im thinking of buying a 6" fan (350 m3h), carbon filter and a fan controller to control the speed. Can someone please help

I used a 4” RVK (unsure what m3h) for my first grow in a 60x6”x160 many years ago. The extraction was so much the tent sides pulled in to the point they were pushing all around the reflector and made airflow up and out of the filter difficult. A fan controller was needed really.

I would think that fan would be fine for your space. What do you plan to use for lighting? If LED you won’t have any heat issues.

It depends what you have for heat that needs to be exhausted, what light will you run? I think a 6" will be to much unless you have a lot of heat to get rid of, the 6" system will take up more space also. I had a 4foot x 4foot tent with a 600w cool tube reflector once and exhausted through the tube with a 6" fan filter setup and medium setting was more than enough.
