I'm a firm believer in that. I usually just do 24 to 36 hours of darkness. I noticed if it goes longer than that. the buds get spongy as if they were already cut down.. Light destroys trichomes, New trichomes form when they sleep. Now when the light doesn't turn on at its normal time the plant knows its going to die. At that point the plant start pushing out way more THC to develop seeds to prolong its lineage . Since they have not been pollinated. No seeds form and the calyx's just swell up a lot. I usually try to cut em down in the dark so at harvest time they never get light until the flame hits the bowl.
