HELP! My 8 day old seedlings are starting to show signs of purple growth, and yellow burning on the tips!
I'm using roots organic 707 outdoor blend with no additional nutes added to the soil just soil straight out of the bag.
I used filtered water through my tap, and I always get the ph to 6.0 to 6.8. Water temp: 68 - 70 degrees.
Temperature & humidity in grow room 77 - 82 in daytime , 73 - 75 at night.
The new growth is just brown to purple and doesn't look healthy need help figuring out what the problem is!

Easy. Your gonna be fine. I run into alot. Or used to until I started lightning my bag soil. And not amending till later. I simply Ph between 5.8 - 6.2 max to lockout some nutes. Do this until you have 2 more sets of leaves. Then start raising your ph and end up watering between 6.2- 6.5 from then on. Those leaves won't recover. But they fall off in a few weeks anyways. Good luck.

Ok yeah I didnt amend the soil at all off the bat so i know that cant be the problem. The highest the ph has gotten has been 6.8, so your saying to use a ph of 5.8 - 6.2 in the first week , and as the plants get alittle older start using a ph of 6.5 to 6.8?

Soils can be hot out of the bag. "Increases shelf life." Lowering the ph safely reduces the plants ability to uptake the entire availability. Hence no burn. I also never exceed 6.5 until the last couple weeks of flower.

“How high” (see what I did there) do you go with your pH toward the end of flower? I’ve read different things on growers tinkering with pH towards the end of flower produce more colorful buds but don’t know anything about this.

Is that why you raise pH towards the end? Or another reason? Sorry for all the questions, just on a quest for more knowledge.

I stop at 6.8. This is an attempt to allow more P and K uptake and minimize N.

Thank you for the info!!

I know there’s a visual chart that shows the best pH for uptake of each mineral/macro/micro that I’ve seen out there, but admittedly, I never paid attention to N,P,and K uptake and pH levels so it’s a helpful reminder to me to revisit that chart as I progress through my own grow!

I’ll tinker with the pH at the end of flower a bit to see what diff results I get in this grow! Fingers crossed!

Thanks again for the advice!

Awesome thanks for the info on that I'll def be sure to keep my ph in range now! I just checked the ph of the water that was in my sprayer and it was at 7.2 ! Yikes! It went up over time I had it at 6.5 a couple days ago...

Only keep mixed, Ph'd water 2 days. Ph always creeps as oxygen evaporates.

Yellow tips, even in seedlings, can show too much fertilizer/hot soil mix or over watered. Ease up, add perlite to your mix, don't feed ....and yes, check pH!

Hi just wanted to give a little update on the purple growth/burnt tips... I've been watering my ladies at a ph of 5.8 to 6.0 the purple growth is slowly starting to fade but haven't seen explosive growth yet ... anything else important I should know about keeping my seedlings healthy advice is always much appreciated. New grower trying to learn as much as possible thanks.
