8" inline 750 cfm to much?

Ok heres the room specs:[6'x6'x4']tent,1000watt xxl cool hood.i just was told go bigger on the in line fan at 8" 750 cfm with matching cfm carbon filter.im going for a passive air in take with vents at the bottom opened and maybe a small in let fan.i know this seems like an over kill but looking twoards the futher expation some where down the road and i always go bigger.do guys think this fan will be to much for this set up my plan is to get a Titan fan speed controller day/night.seting the fan at 90%-100% lights on.then 50% lights off.still not sure one the fan on % have to do a few more dry runs.i have did my share of soaking in past threads trying to decifer whats usable info and whats "this is how i do it shit"...any thoughts welcomed

It really really sounds like overkill to me. I'm running a 336cfm 6-inch fan right now to cool a 600W light, and on its lowest setting of 3, it is more than I need or really want. I'll set up a 4" charcoal filter and fan when I get to the stinky plants stage ... Jmo. cn

I have great results just using a $10 dimmer extension cord... Variable to all speeds. http://www.amazon.com/Extension-Cord-Indoor-Piggy-back-White/dp/B0048F4H0C

I purchased my fan for $40 at a garage sale though - I'm sure the $250 model is a bit better for your fan, although at that price you could just replace the fan every now and then.

I would say 90% is a bit over kill with lights on. I ran a 1kW in a 4x4x6.5 tent and was using a 440cfm fan dimmed as low as I could make it while still maintaining suction for my carbon filter - never had heat issues.

i am using a 6" in line duct inlet and 6" inline duct outlet fan (carbon filter) in a room 10" x 6" x 6" i have 2 X 600w hps lights in there at the moment and fans at lowest speed, temps at 26c, if you are using an 8" inline fan in a tent that size with a passive intake you better make a big hole for the intake thats all i can say.

it is coming to winter here just now so i am using the air from the house, if i suck the air in through the window the temps drop too low.

i agree the hot air is being vented out of the house completly leaving fresh co2 inriched air to be sucked in,from a cool basment.if worse comes to worse i will get an 6" fan for exhuasting and put he 8" away till i can expaned a little.but im thinking a carbon filter+cool hood and around 20' of venting to my exit source of hot gases, that fans proboly gonna be at 600cfm of so.....

thats a n-rigged shapperell ice shanty just like a store bought tent just had to use panda film for the walls celing floor cut and seal my own vents...im a cheap ass when it comes to shit i can do my self.

I got a 1000 watt in a 5x5x6 tent, my 250 CFM 6 inch fan works great to keep temps down. I don't think any fan could be overkill, the more air in and out the better, you should get a controller though so you can turn it down when friends are over, or when you're sleeping.
