A couple Q's. (Flowering, CO2)

Hey Guys,
I'm at a wall. :wall: I have a couple questions to ask. I hope that someone will be able to help me.

I have two plants, and as of today it has been 71 days since I put their seed into the soil. Now, as mentioned above, I am at a crossroads. Attached is a picture of my plants. What I would like to know is, would you start to flower them at this stage? They are currently 18" and 1-2" stems are popping up all over. One member, CaliGrower, said I should in another post. I just would like to get a general consensus.

Also I would like to inquire about CO2. I have read/ heard/ seen from people that supplemental CO2 is a BIG player in your baby's rate of growth. Unfortunately (I know I'm going to catch hell for saying this) I don't have the money for a legitimate set-up. I tried the "Vinegar & Baking Soda in a balloon," what a waste of time and money. Then I began to think about something that I haven't heard. I have been having problems with rising temps, and I would like to add CO2. What do you suppose would be the end result if I were to add a medium sized chunk of dry ice?? It is soley condensed CO2, and it should lower the temp. Do you think that this could work.

I am thankful for your responses and hope that maybe my questions, and their answers, may pertain to others as well. :weed:

Are they female's?If you use the dry ice you have to regulate the rate you let the gas escape as it melts.to much co2 is not good for your plants.Use a small cooler with a hole punched in the top and put it in yuor spot. You say you have heat problems?are you changing out the air in the spot?If so this needs to stop when adding co2.Co2 is only usefull when lights are on,so the heat thing may still be aproblem.Good luck,The hornet

Hey Guys,
Thanks alot for the input, especially about the CO2 thing. I didn't know to much could be bad. Cheetah, I do believe that my light setup is a little small. I plan on buying more T5s but in the 4500k spectrum. I know i can buy a HPS right now (used) for $70, money is not the issue here for that aspect. I just have invested a ton of money and research into these T5s and I would like to see if they can do the number. Also I need to post a pic of my grow box. It is 4'x3'x2' and it is 2"x4" frame with Home Depots 3'x7' door skin over it. So I'm kinda afraid to put a giant hot electrical monster in there.

As for the CO2, I think I will take your advice hornet. (I do not know if the are girls yet because I have been reluctant to start the flowering cycle) I will buy a small quantity of dry ice, put it in a cooler and pop a few (8ish) small (1/4") holes in the top. I do change out the air, actually, to keep my temp around 76 I keep my door open and have my 6" fan always blowing fresh air in. I do realize that when adding CO2 I need to keep it a closed system.

Guys, I really thank you for your time. I think I will try the dry ice in a cooler idea. And as for the lighting, if these T5 4500 bulbs do not work for me I will take a more interested look at the HPS. Good luck.
