This is my first grow in 4 years; my first soil grow ever. I had a closet grow in the past; ebb & flow. I wanted to go with soil this time due to my quest for quality over quantity. The arguments for soil supporting better taste for the final product won me over but I really just wanted to try soil.
I decided to go with a few of the seeds I had more of in case I screwed something up and I also wanted strains that would flower relatively the same amount of days; 60 - 67. I went with Cali Connection Green Crack and BC Bud Depots Girl Scout Cookies. I have read decent reviews on the GC and not much good about the GSC but I wanted to give them a shot. These were fem'd.
I am 3/3 on the GC so far on day 7 of germ/sprouting; 2/3 on the GSC and one of those ain't lookin' too good! I am hoping to take all 5 the whole way but would be happy with 4. I just moved the 5 to SOLO cups since they already had roots coming out of the RR's. I decided to use RR's since I had them sitting around from 4 years ago. I put 75% Light Warrior/ 25% of my soil in the top 2/3 of the SOLO's and straight soil at the bottom 1/3 to give the girls a taste before they go to the bigger air pots.
My medium:
1.5 cu. ft. FF Ocean Forest
1 cu. ft FF Original Planting Mix
1 cu. ft. FF Light Warrior
1 gal. FF Big & Chunky
3/4 cup Dolomite Lime.
