A question about age

I was wondering, if I ordered say 10 seeds for my first grow, and germinated about 3 and worked on them, could I save the other 7 seeds from my order and plant them at a later time? If so, what would the ideal storage conditions be for the other 7 seeds?

It will be my first grow, so if I mess up I think it would be a pretty good plan to have some other seeds to keep going with.

i think seeds will keep for virtually forever as long as they don't get burned or leave them in a damp place or something

i put em in an old pill bottle or film canister and through it in a drawer

K thanks guys. I like the idea of having 3 out of 10 trial plants and then 7 more to back it up. Plus 5 free ones, but meh.
