How necessary is it to have a fan blowing on your plants...? Can they grow strong stems without it or is it a better idea to get one?

I would say (yes)it is necessary to have a fan blowing on your plants, although I don't on my current grow. I still have good air flow & my plants are short and stout. If you get stretching thats when a weak stem gets in trouble, IMO.

A fan blowing on your plant will make a stem thicker and stronger becouse of the resistance the wind creates, I would get a fan but I'm going against the grain in my grow!!!:leaf:

You don't want a fan blowing "on" your plants, just creating a breeze around them, both for ventilation and to strengthen the stems of seedlings. I have 5 fans in my grow room.
