A question about types of jails for growers

Okay, so I've seen the specials on MSNBC and shit about maximum security prisons and what not. Obviously there are lots of dangerous actual criminals in there, murderers, etc. Now I was thinking, surely a guy growing a few plants probably wouldn't go to the same kind of jail a guy who killed someone would go to, right? If you just had plants, no other charges would you go to more of a "nicer" place? Obviously either way would be bad, but as long as I don't have to worry about my watching my ass, literally, I could live with that. Worse case scenario read books all day and lift weights.

Most non violent pot guys go to minimum security prisons.Usually a big open room with a bunch of beds called dorms or in Donovan state prison its called the gym. There is really no rape or murder in those put you might be forced to fight.

It depends, I guess. If you're serving less than a year you'll go to a county jail. Some of these county jails also house federal inmates on their way to federal prison and state inmates on their way to state prison. If you're serving more than a year you'll go to state prison or federal prison, depending on who busts you. They never put the super violent offenders in the general population, though, which is where you'd be for something like growing cannabis.
