a quick electrical question about 220V

Hi there I'm just getting started on round two of my growing career. I am running all my lights on a 220v circuit that is my dryer outlet but I still want to use my dryer. If I plug the dryer plug in and use it during lights out I believe I will throw off my timer. Is there a way I can splice the two onto one plug and just make sure the dryer never gets touched unless my lights are off? I want this to be relatively safe,

That doesnt sound too safe.The safest way is to run another 220v wire from your light location to your outside breaker box.leave the dryer outlet for the dryer.

first off, you SHOULD run a new line with it's own breaker for your lights, what you can do is, Wire the same type of plug on your lights as the one on your dryer, unplug the dryer and plug in lights, when you need dryer,unplug lights,plug in dryer,when done reverse, you will never have a problem that way. AND I WAS STONED WHEN I TYPED THIS.
you'll have to readjust your timer when you use your dryer,but you'll be safe.

Hey thanks for being real with me. Yeah I don't want the hassle of having to readjust the timer every few days so is there any way you could somewhat explain the operation of wiring a new breaker from the box? I have somewhat knowledge of electrical components and am not dumb, it would just be a catastrophe if something went wrong with the box, trying to explain what I'm doing to some professional electrician hehe

Ill be sure not to take your advice, since you have NONE to offer!! Everyone in this thread has all agreed, electricians or not, (I AM ONE, BTW) that he's NOT SAFE doing it like that.

Theres a reason there is only ONE plug on that wire going to your electrical panel, its for ONE device.

So, where do you get your advice? Go down to the local electricians union hall and ask them what you need to do to wire up a grow room? Yeah, you can be "sneaky" but there comes a time when you will need to ask a VERY specific question, about something, that will likely lead up to suspicion. you just broke rule #1 a long time ago then.

IMO, if your afraid of electrically or just absolutely no experience, growing weed isn't your avenue, unless EVERYTHING you buy is plug and play, which in the long run costs 10X more.

But, thanks to these forums, it can be possible. Don't take advice, take LOTS of advice, Good luck guys!
