A series of questions

Most of these will probably seem like n00b questions but I hope someone still takes the time to answer them.

I just found a little black spider on one of my plants, Friend or Foe?

Some of my stems have areas where the outer green tissue has been worn away leaving a gnarly looking light brown area with bits of light brown tissue that looks a bit like hay coming off. The leaves at the ends of these branches still look good though, what happened and should I be worried?

Can i feed my plants fruit? If i blend up a strawberry and give it to my plant will she like it? What about beef stock?

regular spiders are friend not foe, they will eat other bugs that get into grow area

if you have pics of the stems it would help determine whats going on, otherwise if leaves still look healthy and remain healthy wouldnt worry about it

feeding plants fruits is a hit or miss. they could benefit from the added sugars in flower, but also would be sending out an invitation for mold and fungus

Spiders are friends that will eat other bugs. However, I also have read that they work too slowly to be considered an effective pest control method. Also, you might not want their web on your buds because they are apparently hard to get off. I found one in my tent the other day too, and decided that I wouldn't mess with him if he doesn't mess with me. He bites me, jumps at me, looks at me funny, or otherwise screws with me and he's toast. We've been cool with each other for the past couple days.

I've never heard of anyone giving their plants a fruit smoothie. Doesn't mean it can't be done.

I would be worried that the sugars would attract enemies... Root aphids, Gnats, Ants, you know all that stuff.

Normal spiders are cool... They kill and all kinds of bugs. Spider Mites = Enemy and they must be destroyed!

Oh geez, spidey came to my thread... sudden flashbacks to my early days at 4chan. Haha you guys are funny. Here's a picture of the branch with a leaf, the spider seems to be hiding today.

So what do we think, take off the weak branches to encourage the strong or let the plant figure it out.
