a war that can be won??

i am at day 30 of flowering my lady outdoors and have been fighting a spider mite problem the whole flowering process, i have used everything from the rubbing alcohol,dish soap, ed rosenthal's zero tolerance and even this new product i picked up at the hydro store called SUCRASHIELD, i pretty much hand clean each leaf i see .

i keep the numbers down but i cannot completely get rid of them all.
will she finish ok and can she be harvested?

AVID used 15 drop for 1 liter of water spray entire crop 3 days later repeat. No matter what pest it is it WILL take care of it saved my ass TONS of times.

Actually if you read the instructions its says that AVID isnt meant to be used on anything you plan on consuming, it'll actually mess your body up and the toxic build up WILL eventually kill you.. thought you should kno

i most def agree greenthumb no chems for me (unless it's a chem/dawg strain), at this point i'm just gonna spray em down with cold water and kill em by hand ....

Well neem is a natural product, and it probably won't eradicate them completely, but it will do a better job of keeping them in check than *just* water. The spraying DOES help, as mites dislike moist conditions, and you can generally dislodge a bunch of them by spraying plain water, but IMO I would still try something else like neem along with the sprayings.

thanks for the advice , i'm gonna go research neem right now, i'm willing to spend some extra dough to keep my ladies happy and healthy, seems worth it to me

hmm from what i read
Avid is a miticide that contains Abamectin, which is a mixture of avermectins, which are antibiotic compounds derived from the soil bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis. Abamectin acts as an insecticide by affecting the nervous system of and paralyzing insects. Abamectin is used to control insect and mite pests of citrus, pear, and nut tree crops, and it is used by homeowners for control of fire ants.

Avid is mixed with water and sprayed on the surface of the leaves. It is generally mixed at a rate of 1/4 teaspoon per quart of water. The conventional wisdom is that it is safe to spray on your plants 5 weeks before harvest. Mites die when they come in contact with it.

Avid breaks down quickly once it is mixed so don't mix more of it than you need at the time. Given its cost, that should be an easy caveat with which to live. Do not resuse your leftovers, at its diluted stregnth spider mites may survive a treatment, which might lead to resistance.

Avid is post a pesticide and an ovicide, which means it kills mites and eggs.

So as long as u use it 5 weeks before harvest you should be good as there will be no more chemicals left. Happy Growing .

if your gonna go chem them i recommend " SM-90" , is what i used when i had to fight off an infestation. Can be used as foiliar spray or if using hydro directly into the reservoir. this stuff smells a little better than the neem, and IMO works the best. Can be purchased at a local hydro store/online. The guy that turned me to it , swears by it. Good luck
