A leaf growth obviously... but can anybody explain the cause (which is probably just genetics) and if there is any reason for concern (probably not) or bragging rights (probably not)

Cheers to all who post! bongsmilie

Had one of those this grow, it ended up being retarded in other ways too. No reason for concern other than it shows some genetic instability that could possibly make it a slow grower, prone to disease or other deformities, etc. It might be the best smoke you ever had too!

She's been quite the grower already, out-competing the others, so hopefully it'll be the best smoke ever! I was wondering if that would affect topping methods and techniques by having that growth there. I wouldn't think so since it hasn't shown any outward growth like the other side nodes, the leaves just seems to be getting larger but at a very very sluggish rate compared to the true side nodes.

Does anybody know if hormones will be redirected to that growth node when topped?

I have a similar mutation right now with my plant. It's still in the seedling stage, almost at veg. One of the leaflets has a single leaf, and the other leaflet has two large leafs. I am very curious to see how it grows. It can't be stress because there are 23 other plants that have had the same exact environment and feeding in the same soil and they are healthy as ever. Love mutations.
