AC isn't keeping up...

Question for anyone that maybe been through this problem before. Would it be okay to use less light in flower cycle on days where the ambient temperature is hight.... For example, today it was 93* F and my 5000 BTU AC couldn't keep up with my 1800 watts of lighting. I came home and it was about 86* in my grow area. For a hot day like today, can I lower the wattage from maybe a 1000 HPS to a 400 MH. Maybe this would stimulate cloudy days to the plants - or would it just stress them out?

Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, during the summer I set the timer on my center light to on 1 hour off 1 hour to help a bit with heat. Light movers help too. Change your light cycle to come on at 8pm-8am, that helps immensly.

That's a good idea about the light cycles, but I'm 3 weeks into flower. I'm running 6:30am-6:30pm. Wouldn't it be too drastic to change now?

No, but a bit tedious. Just roll back your timers 1 or 2 hours per night - less than 12 hours of light is ok as long as it's not extreme, so 1 hour per night is pretty gentle.

12,000BTU window units are cheap at pawn shops, and Hamby makes a 12,000 BTU portable unit. 5000 BTUs is pissing in the wind with HID lighting and the heqt od the day coming into play. You can also reversse tyhe "daylight" period, so that the lights are on at night Lights on at 7PM and off at 7 AM

You CAN grow on a shoestring, but it takes a bit of working capital to do it right. Hows your odor control?

If its a window ac take some ventilation duct the flexible kind connect it to one of ur vent on ur ac and run the duct to ur flowering area that's what I did and we got 100 degree days here and I stay up stairs but my babies never get over 78 that's just what I did cheap and pretty efficient well that's my 2 cents
