So I was curious if any one tried adding a carbon filter directly to the 4 inch exhaust that come off a stand up portable ac, Like one of those low cfm can lite plastic filters?

i tried a 4 inch filter with a 6 inch booster fan, to keep my drying odor down. not enough pressure on the fan, blows into the filter, then starts blowing back out around the edges, wont push air through the filter. tried it pulling and same thing, just doesn't have enough pressure to pull through the carbon.
i found these and gave them a try, they work ok on the 6 inch booster fan, they were cheaper a year ago when i bought them, got 2, so i can wash one and give it time to dry while using the other one. keep the drying smell down in the house pretty good. they're crap compared to a good phresh filter, but they're a lot better than nothing

A real booster fan for inline use is $100 or more. Those little Vivosun units are not even close to powerful enough.
