adding nutrients

Im using Aurora Roots Organic Original soil. I have the general hydro flora series nutrients and dont know when i should use them. I was thinking of putting half the recommended solution in a gallon of water and using them. Would it hurt the plants to add those nurtients now?

when i grew in soil, i used the B.O.G. method. when he used pre-ferted soil, he would still feed, but at a reduced rate. i think it was like 1 tbsp. per gal. of pure blend. but it depends on the nutes too. if you see tip burn, just back off a little on the nutes...

get yourself a ppm meter. it's the best way to determine your feeding. i am not familiar with that soil so i don't know what it contains already. i still think you'll be ok starting with some light feedings. alternate feeding and watering to play it safe. feed, water, feed, water. i'd start with 400ppm or 1/4 strength till you get a ppm meter.

Ya, its like a 5-5-3 ratio of nutes so I cut the formulation in half, but haven't started watering with it yet. I'd like to check into those ppm meters. Where do you find them and how much are they running ya?
