Advice? 3 to 7 gal

Good day to all of u and, thanks for stoping by i realy appreciate anylne who weighs in..
So i waS curious about what people thought.ihave 2 month old clones in 3 gal and im thinking about up pottin to 7 gal letting settle for a week and flipping to 12 12.
My curiosity is waste of soil vs larger harvest..

3 to 7 needs at least two to three weeks before the flip to benefit from the pots size
