Advice/lighting

Hi

I'm new and I've recently started my first grow "2 plants"
So far things seem to be going ok...
The strongist one Falcity, is doing well for her self shes growing well and gaining a nice height. She got re-poted on monday. its 5 weeks old the other one Nicole is about a week behind her in terms of growth but ready to be re-poted
Booth plants recently got there first nutriant feed ive gave them one mill of veg growth.

My grow setup is in my dads garden shed (he knows) in terms of lighting I've got
1xH.P.S 250 watt
2x30 watt florecent bulbs going to

I'm using my H.P.S at the moment as the weather is awful were I live..
Is this ok ? except on the electricity bill

I'm keeping them in light for about 15 to 16 hours a day is this ok to ? or should i push for near all day light for a few weeks ?

My dads got some experence in growing weed so he's helping me ...

typical veg times are 18/6 20/4 and 24/0

imo its matter of preference 20/4 is a good medium

also what kind of reflective material are you using?

I was going to say; get some reflective material up. To keep nasty bugs out as well as light in, and just to get some more control over the environment.

orca film is very good kinda pricey but well worth it

so like 20 hours on 4 hours off is that with H.P.S on or would it be ok with the two tube lights. lowered so there just above ?

The reflective matrial is called rad flect but its more or less glorified bubble wrap with a reflective service.

Ok that can be done quite easilly i presume il work on controlling the enviroment .. well i got add and it kinda helps me concintrate basicly sit one place and get things done, so he sees the use for it ....

that might be a little tough to find over here but I'l see what i can do.

thanks guys what about H.P.S distance?

you can lower it until it is warm at the canopy you tell by holding your hand there for 30 sec if its uncomfortable to you then you need to raise it

Yep im going to roof the box today and cleen up inside a lot more... Does the H.P.S need to be on all the time cause that going to cost me a fortune in lecy ?

for best growth rate then yes you want the most powerful lights on the more light the better your results.

that silver stuff can also possibly magnify the light and burn your plants....

running a hps on two small plants isn't all too necessary if your really concerned about your power bill. you could veg both of those with a couple cfls and wait to us a hps when they're about a foot. keep your lights on for anywhere around 18/6 to 24/0 and make sure you have airflow so the stems can get strong.

that will work fine too, but i say rock the HID cut your veg time shorter and roll into flower

well the thing is i was going to run the hps for about 8 hours then use a the florecent, lights for the other ten hours.
would an extractor fan do at plant height ? or do i need to put in a desk fan ?

How long realisticly can i get them through veg and into flowering ? is heaight an issue with how long it takes to get them to flower?

couple weeks just depends how big you want to get them

Hi folks so i went off on a shopping rampage, its really difficult to say yeah im growing weed have you got any kinda siliver reflection stuff ?

but mm heres what I got up to

any thoughts and feed back my nest job is to get a fan in there some where i was thinking and a bathroom extractor reversed so it sucks air in ? any more feed back would be great...

desk fans work, put it at an angle so all the plants get air flow. veg them to about a foot and a half, this could take a month and a half, then ease them into flower and theyll be around 2 feet or more. flower takes about 8-9 weeks depending on strain.

250 light are not the best for growing bug yeilds try getting hold of a 600 hps for next time,Good to hear that you have not over done it with the ammount of plants i do 2 per 600.Has long has the light is kept close to the plant tops you should still pull a good weight from a 250.I started with a 250 and always got 5/6 per plant but only ever did 1 per 250.The nuts are important when useing get some advanced sensi grow and sensi bloom big bud and over drive send me message when u get these i give you a feeding scedule
