I was given two seedlings around mid june this summer. The genetics have been narrowed down to ether a pk female and a heavy duty tuttie fruity male or sensi star female and heavy duty tutty fruit male. Small error in a mates grow lol. I have been using general organics throughout flowering and noticed pre flowers around 15 of aug. I will note im very close to main. My issue is im unsure when to start to flush or leach the soilless mix im using. I knew that they would never finish under the cold damp conditions we have here this time of year so I have moved them inside under a 1000w hid. I know you can look at the triches to help determine when they are ready but I don't want to start flushing long before they are done. Any advice?

If your using organic fert there won't any salts to flush. If your just getting to know a plant it won't be an exact science. I might like your plant at 50 days while you like it at 60 or 70. If you think your close through the scope, within a week start flushing, might flush a week, might flush 3 days. you probably won'teven notice the difference. ymmv

I used to flush. I also used to wear diapers for fear of shitting on myself. If you insist on flushing, use a diluted Bloom Nute Solution (1/8 - 1/4 strength) at 2-3 times the size of your pot size to see any effect. 5 gallon pots will require 10-15 gallons of a 1/8 - 1/4 strength nutrient solution to successfully "flush" your medium.

just what we need...another "to flush or not to flush" thread

let the debate begin
Sorry about that, all. IDk is correct. It's up to you. If you want a flush to have any effect on your medium, make sure it's 2-3 times the amount of water/mild nutrient solution as your pot size.

EDIT: 5 gallon pots need 10-15 gallons of mild nutrient solution.

Flushing a large pot is one big pain in the ass. Unless your plant is showing signs of distress due to a possible lockout, I wouldn't bother. If you are looking to improve flavor or burn, I would stop feeding nutes the last couple of weeks as that could possibly help, but you shouldn't have to. Peace
